    Or somewhere in between...

*looks over at the wii he hasn't turned on in months and wonders why he still has it*

Its alright I guess, I dunno. Probably not the best person to ask as I don't even play the ps3 much anymore. Theres nothing I want to play on it though *personally*. I won't buy virtual console stuff anymore as I'd just play the roms on my laptop instead. I've only owned 5 games at most since I bought the thing. Got bored of Mario Galaxy after about 37 stars or so. ^_^

Its cool for some people I guess. I was surprised when my parents bought one but they sold it in the end because when the novelty wore off - it was just collecting dust.

I'm for the *yay* option. I'm a bit of a Ninty fanboy at heart and so I think I have a predisposition. I think it's simply a matter of variety and experimentation available on the Wii. I have to say that too many games have been too lightweight, but I do also prefer games that are short and to the point.

I wasn't sure where I stood until earlier in the week when I looked up my wishlist for the GOTY ideas thread and I realised my Wii list is twice the length of the 360 (these are games I intend to buy that I've read good reviews of).

I'm still waiting patiently for new heavyweights like Metroid and Zelda (I feel Mario's been very well represented).

I must be getting old because the 'new' Mario Kart . . well I've just given up on that series completely. The gc one was pushing it but was actually alright, I have no motivation at all to play the Wii one. Didn't play twilight princess either, it just looked so average and dare I say it.. boring. I was a massive nintendo fanboy before their 'reinvention' i.e the cube era and even the early DS. But now I can't say I enjoy their output at all - it doesn't help seeing these completely fake adverts on TV where some 16yr old girl is playing brain training with her grandad and they are so excited its like they won the lottery last week or something.

        Meh.

yay of course. everyone complains that there aren't any games on it but they're either not looking or aren't interested. I have a huge back log of games, and I realise I'm in the minority here but it's my 360 that does the dust gathering. of course there are untold masses of filth clogging up Wii store shelves but there is plenty of serious quality to be found. Also I've said it before but the Wii is a worthwhile purchase on its own for Galaxy, MP3 and Twilight Princess.

          yay definitely

I just can't love my Wii. It was the same with the Gamecube and, to some extent, the N64. They've never fully grabbed me or kept me as interested and committed as the other consoles.

Don't ask me why, but I've just not unconditionally loved a Nintendo home console since the SNES.

I still end up buying them all, though.

I can only imagine that the blurry graphics put me off the N64 a little, the controller put me off the Gamecube and the graphics and controller put me off the Wii.

Probably says it all that my favourite Wii games of the past year have been Rotohex and the two Bit.Trip games - all of them games which allow me to hold the controller as God himself intended:

Sideways with my left thumb resting on the +Control Pad and my right thumb on the face buttons.

Amen! Wavebird was just amazing! I did miss rumble but it was worth it for amazing battery life and all that freedom! by far the best analogue stick on any controller/handheld ever too!

                  As for the Wii?

                  VC/Gamecube BC/Homebrew: Yay!!
                  Wii library: Nay!

Lets not turn this topic into a discussion of the GC controller, but, yes, I did orgasm when I held it originally, and I have done again...just holiding it now

More Wii love here. I have too many games backlogged as well. The VC has been a little dry recently but I'm still working through what I've downloaded over the years.

I'm in the group of people wondering why others don't play theirs.

[and Gamecube controllers were a gift from the Gods]

                        Nay sah!

Not interested in the slightest, I won't ever buy one. I can't explain why, it just seems more like a yuppy toy than a games console.

Tricky. Leaning towards a Nay vote though.

Virtual Console is pretty good but there are too many negatives to other aspects of the system.
It's expensive for such an outdated piece of hardware.
The Wiimote seemed like a great idea but it hasn't changed gaming people expected.
The over reliance on peripherals adds further to the expense.
And you risk furniture and clothing when your drunken relatives / mates want to play Wii Sports!

At the moment, I'm a "nay". When it first launched I was very "yay" but over time that enthusiasm has faded.

I don't agree with the statement that "if you don't think there are any decent games then you're not looking" either as there have been some classics: SMG, Twilight Princess, Resi 4, No More Heroes, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom etc. It's just they're surrounded by more dross than on any other console available (well, maybe not DS).

The issue I take is that Nintendo have been "behind" for the past two generations now (btw, I the Gamecube) with regards to features. With the Cube it was "no-one wants online" and Microsoft stole the march with Live! and this time it's "not enough people own HDTVs" which has meant nearly all Wii games look bloody awful on HDTVs as they aren't desinged to run on them.

I know when SMG2 comes out I'll fire it up and all will be forgiven but curse Nintendo for all this expanded market, family friendly crap!

yay but good game releases are far and few between in Japan. You guys in the west get far more good stuff than we do here. And IF the game does get a release here it's edited. House of the Dead Overkill has **** loads of blood missing, No More Heroes 2 will also and sometimes we don't even get cool stuff such as Mad World, Ghostbusters (Far better than the 360 and PS3 game!) or any of the Rockband titles.

Some may moan that the Japanese got Capcom Vs Tatsunoko, Oborumasa, Innocence and Fatal Frame 4 before the west but that's nothing compared to the stuff we've missed out on.
