I think my power adaptor might be broken.

It appears to charge fine over USB to the computer (albeit only with the machine turned off), but I don't seem to be getting any life out of the power brick

I just got a cheap 10 quid soft molded case, its good does the job, has two straps which to hold the Vita in place and a strap to carry it and room to carry six Vita games, shown here...http://www.gamestation.co.uk/gs/game...e-black-157383

You definitely have the cable in the right way round, don't you? Its easy to stick it in the wrong way and doesn't charge unless the PS logo on the connector is pointing upwards.

Yeah - I think they must have changed the cables because they now only insert one way around. As I say, it charges fine over USB, but the power brick seems dead

Took the thing back and got a replacement, this one appears to work - for now!

Silly question perhaps, but does the vita actually have the capability of emulating psx? Is this something we are definitely going to see? I find it a bit strange that this feature is something to come and not straight out of the box.

No doubt the Vita has the capability to emulate PSX, it's a very powerful system. I'd say they focused on other areas and put PSX compatibility to the backburner due to it not really being that big of a deal to most people. 100% PSP compatibility and the OS must have taken precedent as launch essentials.

They're probably holding it back in order to unveil it as part of their fully-fledged Playstation Suite later this year.

Had a maddening time with the Vita. Bought one yesterday, and the power brick appeared to be faulty. Took it back today, only to find this replacement was even worse - no battery icon appearing in the corner (!), refusing to detect memory card and continuous crashing... eventually refusing to turn on at all. Took it straight back, and no I'm on my third Vita within a day - touch wood, all working fine.

Speaking of quirks how significant is the vertical lines issue that some forums have been going on about? I think I can see faint lines (although that's not really an accurate term to describe it) on mine when playing Fifa during horizontal panning but I can't tell if its something that should be technically considered a fault or whether its a routine characteristic of the screen.

Anyone know what games are out next for Vita? A release schedule?

Other than the international release of Gravity Rush in the summer it's barren.

For the PlayStation Vita, GameFAQs has game information and a community message board for game discussion.

Never sure how accurate this is but it's not bad for a quick idea. Not a huge amount on the horizon at the moment but Lego Batman 2 is looking good. BUT I have a nasty suspicion that we'll get the handheld version. TT have been making big console versions and DS versions. Back in the Star Wars and Lego Indy games, the PSP versions were big console versions. Then, for whatever reason (I suspect due to a lack of in-house resources) the PSP versions started to just be versions of the DS ones. And then the same followed for 3DS.

I heard that the Harry Potter Vita one was yet another DS version, rather than the big console version. That stinks a bit. So I'll be giving it a miss if we get a cut-down handheld version designed for DS on the Vita.

Aside from that, there is Mortal Kombat and Gravity Rush.

I bought the PSP version of FFIV Complete, not having played the After Years. Wondering if I should start it or, alternatively, bring up my kids and have a career. Hoping for PS1 compatibility soon, although that's when I'm really going to feel the region sting - would love to have had Chrono Cross on it and we don't have that here.

It's the usual post-launch dry period, unfortunately. The next game on my radar is Disgaea 3, which is out in the US in April.

I suspect PS1 compatibility is being held back for a fully-fledged launch of the Playstation Suite, which also also being extended to all Android devices.

Any idea what that is due?

So basically nothing until June, when Gravity Rush (in English), Little Big Planet, Persona 4 AND MGS HD Collection come out.

Like buses. I think I'm going to play Peace Walker.
