Will retail games be region free? If they are then I probably don't care about the one store business. All the big titles will be available at retail so importing will be possible. I'm not going to download any more ps1 titles so that's not an issue either. There is just one thing that could ruin my plans though. If they start putting ps2 games in the store... I'd want Okami on psvita for sure.

That dedicated portable gaming device is the big question really, isn't it? I'm like you with the iPod in that I use it all the time for gaming but not because I like touch controls, just because it's with me all the time (quite like the OS situation in a way - not sure it's that active a choice). But the Vita is so big it doesn't make for an easy device to just have with you at all times even if you want a dedicated portable gaming device. That coupled with the battery life (same issue with 3DS) limits its portability to an extent.
I'm a fan of dedicated devices and yet the lines are blurring more and more and, when we have a certain amount of devices with us at all times, it kind of makes sense to shove them all into one. Even now, I'm tempted to get an iPhone for no other reason than I have my iPod and phone with me at all times and it would make sense to have just one rather than two devices with me.
Android phones and tablets might have better specs on paper, but never run as efficient and well as an iPhone. I have Android 4.0 now, its brilliant but I feel its still not 4S brilliant.

From Magicbox:
"Enterbrain reported the first week sales of Sony's PlayStation Vita, which accounted for the first two days only as the launch was on Saturday. PS Vita sold 321,407 units in the first week, slightly lower than 3DS's 371,326, but higher than PSP's 166,074 units"
"Enterbrain also revealed the Top 5 best selling PS Vita titles at launch in Japan, they are:
•Minna no Golf 6 [Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational] (Sony)
•Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Sony)
•Lord of Apocalypse (Square Enix)
•Shin Sangoku Musou NEXT (Koei Tecmo)
•Gravity Daze (Sony)"
Best guess is Vita will pull ahead of 3DS in the 7 day totals but soon drop behind again and likely stay there. There aren't too many heavy hitters lined up and Sony will be doing the usual of expecting early adopters to carry it. I wouldn't be surprised to see a much more aggressive stance with key titles and some good bundles which get around the memory card situation next Xmas.

Sony has not much of a chance against Nintendo I'm afraid. The price is quite a bit higher since Nintendo dropped and they have Mario, Pokemon, Monster Hunter etc. I don't think the Vita has any system sellers of that caliber and the chance is slim that they'll get it. A possible GT, MGS or FF game won't pull that off either. With Uncharted being among the top games, I don't think the software numbers are really stellar. Whats there on the horizon looks decent, but it sounds like a lot of games i'd rather play on the Ps3.
As for the west I doubt many people are going to run to the store to get one either. I think i'm going to wait or a pricedrop or either some decent 32gb memorycard deal. Those faults sound worrying as well.
