Mario Kart: DD

Am I right in saying that there is a week between the NTSC and NTSC-J releases for this? What have most people pre-ordered?

I preordered the US version from DVD Boxoffice on the 20th June.

NTSC-U. I only tend to buy Japanese versions if a US version is unlikely or there is a huge gap between releases. I have loads of games to play so I'm in no rush. Incidentally, the PAL MKD is out before Christmas in PAL land too.

The BIG question is: Will they all be network compatible with each other?

Yes the PAL version is out before the US version for Mario Kart. Will be getting the US version here...

No goddamn chance that PAL DD and NTSC DD will link up, not a hope on jonny hell. Not even the same GBA games in different regions link up, so networks with 50Hz and 60Hz issues, I just can't see it happening. No reason why it shouldn't htough.

It could happen. I think the uPNP discovery packets mention the game region though, which would be the main stumbling block.

I go for the PAL version this time, it should be out before the US version.
I'm looking forward to this one, but first I can't wait to get my hands on V-Joe !

USA 17th Nov

And with the extra few days that it will take for the game to arrive from overseas, all my PAL owning mates will get it almost 2 weeks before me!

An interesting move on Nintendo's part. See it shows that it can be done *when* they want to! I still support ntsc though, their track history for PAL support is awful ft:

It might only be one game, but its a very high profile game. And its going to be out here 1st, i think they do deserve a bit of praise for a change.
