Uncharted 2 is great, but it's barely 3 months old and whilst I love it to bits, I don't think it deserves a higher placing just yet. Ico is slightly low on the list, but will that mean Shadow of the Colussus places much higher? Or will they both count as being in the same series?

I'm probably a bad man for saying this, but I'm ever so glad that none of the N64 games that usually clutter up most of the top 10 slots in a B3ST GAMEZ EVAR !!!11!!!! list are eligible. They might actually have to put some thought in.

Yeah actually I was surprised to see Vagrant Story was eligible, I didn't think it got released so late on.

Modern Warfare revolutionized the way online shooters are designed with its perks and rewards system. i dont play shooters online much but i can certainly see why people would think it is one of the most important games of the last 10 years purley from a gameplay standpoint.

The single player wasnt half bad either to be honest.

Lol, not quite.

The single player was actually rather good in this day and age for a first person shooter. MW hardly 'revolutionized' online shooters - it's not that dissimilar from the Battlefield series' unlock system.

Well as i said I dont really play online shooters, never played battlefield. I do remember plenty of reveiws at the time calling Modern Warfare revolutionary as far as multiplayer went though.

I never said the single player wasnt good, infact I said it was, I love single player FPS games, more than any other actualy so I think I'm generaly a good judge of them, I wouldnt say it was good for "this day and age" thats like saying there hasnt been a good one since doom or somthing.

Killzone 2, Left 4 Dead and Half Life 2 are alot better games than Modern Warfare for me, and thats just quickly off the top of my head. Modern Warfare 2 was actualy better simply becuase the dev's actualy bothered to make the game fair on veteran this time around, even if it was slightly too easy in the end.

I think we can probabaly say Halo will be high up on the list too.

The top 20 is probably going to be quite controversial if they've put stuff like Ico so far down.

It starts to get controversial at number 50.
Dtoid.com premise is very simple, no rules except one game per franchise: this leaves every placement open to discussion, not just for its position but also for its presence (or absence). It's a matter on how much someone liked a particular game and you can't tell someone he is wrong about something he likes.
You can discuss, and that's the whole point of this top 50, to generate traffic. It's not an useless list (maybe you can discover something or you can see something under a different light), but how can you say that x is better than y when they belong to two different genres and are among the best of their genre?
Maybe something like "50 games you shouldn't have missed" would have been more appropriate.

Baldur's Gate II will be in the top 10.
