How often do you trim your "Friends" lists?

Just wondering really as I trim mine fairly often.

If I see someone offline for 3 weeks or more, or if I haven't played a game with them in ages, or in some cases, ever...I delete them.

Do you guys just keep people forever, or do you cull?

Recently I've sent a few friend requests out that I had on before, and I don't mean any rudeness by it, but if I don't play with people, then I don't want them popping up as "ONLINE" during another game when I know that message is pointless as we never play together!

I used to always have nearer 100, but now I try to keep it to 30-40 at most...even at 43 I'm thinking "I need to trim some of these" right now!

I do it every so often, when my list is nearing capacity. If people have not been on for a few months they get culled. I don't just keep people on the list that I play with, nut also those who are on the leaderboards of games I play often.

I always feel like I should but I feel bad. I imagine the other person switching their console on and it popping up "Brad doesn't want to be your friend anymore" lol.

I keep mine fairly minimal so I don't ever need to trim it, but I did just have a cull on Facebook the other day. Why do people from school add you if you never even talked to them??

I trim mine when I realise I'll never play online with the person (I hardly play online), so if you're not on my psn list anymore, its nothing personal

As for facebook, the number of people who used to throw insults at me in the street or didn't talk to me much in school and now send me an invite, its like .. wtf.

I removed someone yesterday. No idea who they were. They kept sending voice messages seemingly to their entire list (is that possible?). Could barely hear except to tell it was entirely irrelevant and he must have been 12 years old.

About every 6 months, I dont play as much online as I would like or did in the days of the original Xbox, and I have friends from then who I cant bar to take of my list after 5 years. But usually if they havent be online in a while, they get chopped. Sitting around 60 at the minute I think.

I always trim it, some people hadn't been on for over 40days, no point keeping them on, mind you i do sometimes wonder if something has happened to them.

I do it once in a while as well, I kick out only the ones that haven't been online in a long time and people I can't remember playing online with....

I have to admit though I could shorten my list a lot more, at the moment it's full but I try to keep a few spaces free all the time for when I meet some like minded players online.. Thinking about it I probably could delete for sure 30 people I never play with anymore from my list...

ps. I keep many also for sake of good online leaderboards

I only do it if I see someone who hasn't logged on for a couple of months or so.

THe trouble is, I don't know how many other friends said person had. I deleted a random once, and he must have only had two friends cos he noticed immediately and sent me an email asking why I deleted him

I'm of the impression that anyone who doesn't turn their PS3 on in a month (And who I don't actually know, away from the internet) doesn't have any value being on my list. Check it every few days.

I probably clean out my friends list once every 6 weeks or so but there are some people on there who've been there since day 1, and whether they've been offline for 6 months or I haven't spoken or played with them in 6 months, they don't get deleted. And I never delete any of the PGR3 or Chessmaster players either. They're sacred.

I only really trim people who I know won't really be on much and even then it's only really to make a bit of space if it's getting to capacity. The notices when people come on are a little annoying at some points but in general I don't have an issue with it, plus it's nice to have a quick skim through and see what everyone's been playing lately. It's very good for online leaderboards too - had a crazy amount of people to compare myself with when Trials hit, for instance.

I mostly just have people I know or have known in real life, just to be nosy about what they're playing. I've still got the very first random who friended me from back when the first SFII came out on XBLA. I never played with him ever again but I'd feel bad taking him off.

I just don't ever "meet" new people on there so dont collect names often, using the mic still terrifies me, I'm lucky that people that play the boardgames don't tend to speak.
