I know this was shown at the Spike 09 Awards but couldn't see any mention of it on the forums. I quite enjoyed Streets of L.A. at the time but New York City was a bug filled piece of sh*t which Activision rushed out for Christmas 2005, good to see it's getting another chance though, the location could also make it quite interesting.
DestructoidI'm not sure why Activision is bringing back the True Crime franchise, and why now. But you know who does? Maria Stipp of Activision Publishing.
"We've been waiting for the right story and opportunity to bring True Crime to a new generation of gamers in 2010," she's quoted as saying in a press release.
"United Front Games has the vision to bring this new undercover game experience to life, where fans will play out their own epic Hong Kong action thriller."
True Crime puts players in the undercover shoes of detective Wei Shen, who is attempting to infiltrate Hong Kong's Triad crime syndicate. Activision is hinting at a moral balancing act, which may have players making tough decisions that could influence the outcome of certain undercover assignments.
True Crime appears to be open world, featuring martial arts, gunfights, drivign, and "acrobatic free-running chases." The game is scheduled for a Fall 2010 release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
