DS RPGs - Which ones to get?

    Hello all

I've just got a nintendo DS for my christmas with Zelda Spirit Tracks, Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Professor Leyton and the curious village.

Im looking for some more RPGs to pick up for this. Do you guys have any recommendation of must have RPGs for the console?

    Cheers

    Remakes:

Chrono Trigger (identical to SNES, rest are full remakes with redone graphics and writing)
    Dragon Quest remakes
    FFIII and FFIV

    Strategy
Shin Megami Tensei : Devil Survivor (import only)
    Luminous Arc Series

    Traditional (original)

    Suikoden Teikris (probably spelt wrong)

    Hard to categorise games:

    Mario and Luigi series
The World Ends With You (best RPG on the system in my view)

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker is pretty decent. Having said that, it's the only DS RPG I've properly invested time in, but I KNOW there're loads of better ones, like Chrono Trigger and whatnot.

But, yeah, that's a good game, very Pokemon, but decent and with good use of 3D for the DS.

POKEMON! just get Platinum you don't really need the other two as well. Pokemon may not be the type of RPG you're looking for but its an RPG none the less. As already said The Mario and Luigi series is always good.

You could check out Endless Frontier. That's the English title by the way.

                thanks for the help

think im gonna look at The World Ends With You next as you can pick it up for a fiver from gameplay...if they get it in stock.

Quite fancy the pokemon games. Are they much different from how they used to be? Ive played sapphire before

If you've played any of the pokemon games then you know how to play ALL of the pokemon games. The addition of the Distortion World in Platinum is nice and the return of the day/night feature makes it quite different from Sapphire along with the extra pokemon available, like Purugly... Don't ever catch it.

Not a lot has changed since Red/Blue. Still a fantanstic series.

                    THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU

Absolutely amazing RPG that would have been paraded through the streets of London, had it been on 360. On DS, it was ignored. But it's a totally original, addictive and bloody good fun RPG. And, very possibly, the best thing Square Enix has ever produced. Lovely game.

TTK's thread is pretty much all you can ask for in a topic like this, but just incase you missed it on there, Kaladron is bang on the money with this:

I understand you can pick this up for peanuts nowadays, and it'd top my recommendations list even if it was still ?30. Genuinely original and completely involving - barely put it down for weeks on end and loved every minute.
