    Is Wii Fit any good?

A quick search for Wii Fit on here mainly lists "for sale" and "wanted" threads.

I know it got 8/10 on here and it's generally had good reviews, but if I were to invest in Wii Plus, and to actually use it most days, would I see some results?

I've left the gym because I don't have time to go, so squeezing a Wii Fit session looks a better prospect.

Nobody on here seems to still be using theirs any more!

The Gadget show tested some other options out, but they don't seem as popular.

Just wondering if anybody's seen any results from using it, other than another gadget to gather dust!

    In summary: Yes.

You could go for a run instead. It's free, too!

I promise I did look at that thread and it mainly consists of people checking to see if it works on a carpet and asking when it's out.

It jumps from 2008 to early 2009 and so on.

Just wondering if people were still using theirs.

Investing in a product or gym membership to help you lose weight often creates a feeling that you're already making progress. If you do something that costs nothing you can start to see real results without any investment. In my experience everyone I know who bought Wii Fit started out with huge enthusiasm and 90 minute/2 hour sessions, then rapidly got bored with it and stopped using it. Because they had no other exercise regimen beyond Wii Fit they never actually lost any weight.

EDIT: If you don't want to go outside, you can replicate most of what Wii Fit offers without it. Do you really need a balance board to do yoga or pushups?

              In short no it's Sh1t!!!!

Worst £70 I ever spent on anything gaming related ever!!!!!

The missus made me import it & she used it for about a month thinking it was great & then realised herself it wasnt & it now sits totally unused (much like my Wii in general)
Board is worth it for games like Rayman Rabbids or Shaun White but Wii Fit is an atrosity & should be put to death...along with all the other crappy fad Fitness games on the machine

Best time to go for a run surely? The unusual surface means muscles that wouldn't normally benefit from running do and the fact that it's so cold means you won't get too hot and sweaty

That said... I'd rather just sit on the couch with a dominos and pepsi.

As for Wii Fit, while I wouldn't say it'd turn you into a lean mean buff machine or anything, if it's instead of doing nothing, its a step in the right direction. Just like walking an extra 1 or 2 bus stops down the road before getting a bus is a step in the right direction.

I don't own a Wii fit, but experience of peripheral gaming has taught me that it would more than likely be a gimmick, and a costly one at that....... Its much more fun to go the gym and sweat it out in my opinion.

Having said the above though, I wouldn't mind giving it a go to see what its like, but to use it instead of actually going the gym to work out, I just wouldn't even entertain the idea........

Save your money, and your place the clutter - borrow it or play it at a mates. Better still wait till its cheap as chips, buy it, and be smug in the knowledge you didn't succumb to the fad
