"I think they're getting a lot of undue criticism. What many of you seem to be forgetting is the programme is aimed at the teen domestic market, and from this point of view, I think it is succeeding."

well so was bad influence - and that had presenters who could atleast present. these guys are complete ****in amateurs. WTF are they doing on mainstream TV? they aren't even good enough to present in-house training videos.

the show is awful, but what else is there on gaming? why they have to pick completely socially inept, bizarre looking kids - i have no idea.

I watched the first few shows and I thing its absolutely appaling, poorly researched, badly directed and it insults the intelligence of the viewer. Is this the best show the UK games industry can muster?

The problem is that the people behind producing this ****, don't take the matter in hand serousley enough...

I wouldnt be suprised if it turns out they both snort coke before the show proper blue peter style. They seem a little to enthusiastic some times. I mean if u put a bowl of stale porridge in front of them i bet they will still act like they are commentatin on a head to head game.

god, i really do despise the show. and the presenters come across as completely annoying, really over enthusiastic, and clueless. and as for the gamez guru, he looks like a god damn crack rat. do you think they could make us gamers look any worse?

                  You are joking right?

I regard VB as one of the best games journos in the business. She knows far far more than those 2 guys.
Glad you said that first - I was about to step in with a massive pasting. Especially since I know that Violet's a huge gamer and knows more than a lot of gamers I've met in my time...

Plus she has a great cleavage. Some of those early GamePads were bordering on the obscene.

Cracking article in this months games? about TV shows by the way Mart. I really enjoyed it.

Is there? Hmm, I've just started a feature on that - it'll look like I've ripped it off now

                        Bad luck mate.

After reading Edge's review of Circus Drive, I've had to bin most of mine cos it uses exactly the same angle at the start as theirs does.

                        Basts.

What does that have to do with anything? People were talking about their presenting skills (Or lack of) not the products they're covering.

I don't care for the "It's not aimed at the hardcore, so it's ok for it to be a bit shoddy" attitude that I often see in threads about these TV shows. Reminds me of a friend who argued that it's fine for CVG magazine to be factually incorrect and incredibly patronising, because it's aimed at children...

Gamesmaster, Thumb Bandits and Bad Influence were also aimed at Joe Average, but they still managed to have decent presenters who didn't sound wooden and unprofessional. You think the so-called casual gamers want to watch TV presented by these muppets?

I don't think the presenting is particularly badly done, so I wasn't commenting on that aspect of the programme, and I think it's good to see gaming have more air time on TV.

My point was the programme generally isn't going to appeal to many people on NTSC-UK because of the content, presentation poor or not.

this thread is about the presenters as are most of the inflamatry posts regarding them. i would said that the programme's biggest is problem is them , and judging by the reacting on here - i would say i was right. it's not the content (although that could be improved) it's the presenters.

a kids games tv show is fine(games are games afterall), just don't make it ****. your first line of call, as a producer, is to get presenters that engage your viewers. i challenge you to fine a set of presenters worse than these two anywhere on mainstream television.

I agree with fluffyrussell to an extent. They are producing an episode a day so it probably seems like overkill in that the presenters are in your face everyday.

The chap that sits behind the desks with all the computers and did the Time Crisis feature yesterday is easily the best presenter on the show and should have more air time.

It's only been on what a bout a month now at the earliest so hopefully it'll get better and to be fair it is the only show about video games going about at the moment at any reasonable hour what with ITV and CBBC core demographics having moved from 5-16 ten years ago to what seems like 5-10 year olds these days. Children's TV I'm afraid just isn't as good as it was. I'm still suprised BBC3 hasn't produced a specific show yet.

Lastly surely I'm not the only one that finds the Game Guru unintentionaly hilarious.
