F Zero GX - Bad for your health!

    That's what I believe anyway.

My friend came round earlier, he hasn't seen the new setup or Fzero. So I decided to show him. I popped onto AX Cup on Master difficulty ( 8) ) and proceeded to amaze him at how fast it was.

I was using the top down view. But then decided to use the 1st person view... My God! It's so much faster this way.

Anyway, I was on the Lightning one I think, with all those right and left 90 degree turns.

I was boosting all the time, going like 1800mph all the time.

30 seconds before i finished, my eyes started to hurt, and water. I finished the race in complete tears. So I started laughing. Then looked at my mate, and because of the sheer speed of the game, he was in tears too.

So inconclusion, i've worked out that F zero is bad for your eyes.

Anyone agree or had any similar experiances with a game?

Its never made me cry before, but i seriously believe that it can't be doing my heart any good.

The amount of concentration thats required must easily put your stress level upto dangerous levels.

But what a way to go eh? Dropping dead whilst playing F-Zero...how hardcore is that?

Yeah - I'd agree that F-Zero GX is detrimental to one's health.

For one thing I like to breathe when playing games and F-Zero requires so much concentration that I sometimes forget to.

Also, because it's so unforgiving I find it very stressful and often feel like breaking stuff after trying Story Mode on very hard for the 147th time and failing. So then I smoke a ciggy or whatever to calm down.

I've not experienced teary eyes, but have experienced tunnel vision which, again, can't be too healthy.

I always get an adrenaline rush when finishing a cup om master difficulty. The action is so intense

The game never made me cry though. Except when I can't complete a chapter after trying for hours ft:

Oh, wow, this thread has got me all excited now.

I whipped out F-ZeroX for a little practice before I pick this up and - WOW.

If it is anything like F-Zero X then, yes, this game must be bad you you.

My friends and I spent 2 hours this afternoon STANDING UP and playing at blinding fast speeds. My depth perception and balance totally went for about 10 minutes afterwards. I felt drunk!

We played in first person towards the end, just joking around, crashing a lot. But when we started playing we were desperate to try and prove ourselves as the F-Zero masteh, so we had it in 3rd person so it was more controlled.

We're gonna start a league tomorrow.

Hell yeah! It?s the only way to play, sometimes it gets a bit too intense and you have to give your eyes a quick break and drop it in to 3rd person, only for a bit though...

I remember when I was first playing the Emerald cup Lightning half pipe track. I had to pause the game half way through the third lap for a couple of minutes and let my brain catch up with the action. It's like being super pumped up, concentrating so hard your going to give yourself an embolism.

Who gives a **** if it?s bad for you. I want more.

Can see it now. Streaming cold resulting in box of tissues beside me, belly full of lager and pizza forcing me to undo my jeans, copy of DOA:XBV in XBox and one heart-attack.

First Person View Rocks! Its the only view where you can feel the sense of speed to the max. This game has never made me cry but i swear its been putting stress on my heart especially on master difficulty where one slip up can cost you the race!

Only time I've had my eyes water is when playing Ikaruga. I think it's coz I spend long periods playing without blinking. Same thing might happen with Fzero though because of the constant concentration.

Yes, last monday (after a though weekend and after a hard day of work) first thing I did when I was home was booting up F-Zero, I've played 2 hours till me head almost exploded, then I gave the controller to a friend of mine he could not even for 15 min (he watched for half an hour) ,
this game is faaaaaast!!! Normally I have no problems playing F-zero ,
So this evening I'm taking another go to finish the master mode.........

Yes I know what you mean, playing Ikaruga is also very "demanding" for the brains, you need 100% concentration to get a good score there.
                          Excellent game !
