    Gaming this or Gaming that

I like different localised gaming chat, and I want to hear your examples, what you say also.

    Do you say;
    System or Console
    Clocked/Beat/Completed/Finished
I always called it a Boss, I heard on person call it a Guardian

Allthough I have probably used all of those words sometime or another, I mainly use:

    Console.
    Completed/finished.
    Boss.

Consoles for consoles. System as in gameplay system. And clocked for finished.

        Console.
        Finished and completed.
        Boss.

Also - skanked - in a game; getting thrashed, dying, connection dropping, game crashing, etc.
e.g., "Oh Man, I got SKANKED, my connection dropped."
*BOOM* Shot in the back of the head by teammate - "Spatial just skanked me."

Also - Fammydodd (ed) - see above, synonym of skanked.

Console (though probably used system in relation to my Gaming PC)

Finished and Completed are two different things to me. I've finished the story in GTA IV but haven't done all the side quests so the game is yet to be completed. I've finished Civilization Revolution hundreds of times. I've only completed it once (when I got 1000 gamerpoints. I did start again on a new profile but only got about 600 points before moving on to a different game). Clocked is a term I've used a few times. Can't say for what one though.

            Boss

I remember this guy at school referring to bosses as "End of level baddies".

                    Console
                    Done instead of finished
                    Boss

Some games refer to bosses as guardians, but that doesn't sound anywhere near as cool as boss or make you as excited. Saying "I'm about to fight the boss!" sounds much better than "I'm about to fight the guardian..." guardian makes you feel scared, not excited.

                      Console
                      Completed
                      Boss

One odd one which is probably more to do with me being old is that i always call controllers pads.

                        Console
                        Completed
End of level baddie (<- yep I'm one of those too, I only started saying boss after reading places like this)

I use the word 'gubbed' for when I'm getting beaten, but that's not really gaming vocabulary so much as colloquial Scottish.

guardian is pretty rare isn't it?
