Yeah, its kind of a bummer to me. I don't dislike Socom, even enjoy MAG... but I hoped for Motorstorm 3, Twisted Metal, Infamous 2... something like that.

At least its not a new Socom by Slant Six. Here's hoping the game will be more like Socom 2, and not Socom 3 or the god awful Confrontation.

Surely E3 or possibly GDC will bring some goodies, from the pictures thought this looked ok.
I remember when the original Socom was about to launch and Team playstation rep came in with it one day to demo. No one would step up to demo it, so up I went (glaswegian accent) had huge voice com fail and a guy burst out and stabbed my dude in the face, ahhhh memories

I am lubed for this. I play a lot of Confrontation and I love it, but I've still be secretly hoping Zipper take the Socom reigns again.

I'd rather play Confrontation over any MW or Bad Company. Putting the time in reveals a magical game of tactics and glory. Lest behest.

Best PS3 announcement ever. Sweet! Confrontation is still my shooter of choice but if I'm honest I yearn for something better.

It'll need to be a big step up from Confrontation to make any impact. The last game fell off the radar quick thanks to it's clunkyness and poor community.

I'm in a place where I think Confrontation is fine and would benefit from a better performing front end i.e menus and some better matchmaking options. A sequel to Confrontation. Them nicer graphics in 4.

I fear the next Socom will cater towards those who didn't like the closer combat of Confrontation.

Confrontation is not very accessible and requires you to put lots of time into it. Once you learnt the maps and have some tactics for each map and mode, the game really grabs you. By this time, probably 80% of people who tried it switched on CoD4.

Looks okay. Not really interested in a Socom story campaign. Hope the multiplayer will be good enough to suck me out of Confrontation. Although, I have a gut feeling that's not going to happen.

I find international terrorists are very sloppy these days in leaving such obvious areas of cover all over the place surrounding their bases. I mean you would have as open, flat, large and well lit an expanse of land as possible instead wouldn't you?

Sorry, it's not that I doubt their talents, it's due to me being a heavy Confrontation player. I prefer the close quarters combat. I imagine Zipper will revert back to more open maps and vehicles. I will give a good try when it arrives and I hope it does suck me in. Just having so many great times on my Confrontation clan where I have a great turn out of friends to play with.
