Dodgy DS games, how to spot them

I know not to touch anything that's ridiculously cheap and comes from Hong Kong.
But i've noticed a lot of sellers selling games and saying they're not DSi compatible. They often have at least 10 in stock. Are these dodgy ones, or are they just unaware that US games are actually compatible and it's only proper DSi games that aren't.

No. That's normally a surefire sign that the game in question is not an official copy.

If it says DS/DS Lite only, then it's definitely a fake.

cheers guys They've been saying they're us copies, but it seems weird to have so many in stock at half the price of competitors.

It's worth noting that although 99% of DS/DS Lite only games are copies, there are exceptions.

DSi enhanced titles are region protected BUT they're only protected for the DSi. DS and DS Lites can play them fine. There are only a handful of games protected like this though. Idolm@ster DS is the only notable one that springs to mind.
