I don't think it worth buying the system for, especially if you have already played it on the Gamecube, unless of course you are a massive Zelda nutjob. There is no doubting it truly is sublime and alot better than the Gamecube version if you don't mind playing on the little screen, but that is a lot of money to shell out to play one title if that is all you are interested in at the moment. It really is a superb game though and for people who already own the 3DS it is a godsend at the moment were there is a lack of quality titles.
I also highly rate DOA Dimensions , I put loads of time into it as well, better than the big console versions, and that is the only other title I own at the moment.
The titles that are in the pipeline shown at E3 stole the show for me, I simply cannot wait for Luigi's Mansion, that will be epic on a handheld, that game was made for 3D.
The future is looking pretty good for the 3DS judging by recent sales, and that is just for one game really.

What exactly is this revolution i am missing out on? Being 200 out of pocket? I haven't been able to see the joy when i have played some of the games, tis all a bit meh nothing substantial and the only game that is, is Zelda it seems...yawn.
Maybe next year i will buy one and i won't be missing out anymore...

This is all quite subjective isn't it? I mean, I only own three games right now - Ridge Racer 3D, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. For me personally, it was worth paying the entrance fee for these games and the games that are coming on the horizon. For other people, such games might not be as much of a big deal, and they might feel it in their interests to wait until more games appear, or the console reaches a price point that suits them. It's really as simple as that, surely?

Well its still your loss then.
?200 isnt much for a games system anyway these days, I'm going to blackpool for the weekend next month, and I will probabaly spend more than that on booze and stuff in a couple of days..
I'm still playing Zelda after a weeks worth of playtime, i'll also be going through it again in master quest. And then theres all the other games coming out for the system anyway.
I think the 3DS is starting to become a machine worth having now after a decent but somewhat slow start.Last edited by rmoxon; 23-06-2011, 19:53.

Not really. As good as it is it still isn't a new game, its just a port at the end of the day. I have played the game to death already although I have not quite finished it.
I can see your point about it isn't just buying the machine for one game, that rings true in the future. At the moment though there is nothing on the machine I want or nothing coming in the near future, seems the case with a few others too.

3DS battery life is killing me. It's pox. And, unlike the PSP, it doesn't save where you are and shut down nicely. It just claps out. Pox. For a handheld, as much as I'm enjoying it, I think the battery life is pretty unacceptable.
But, yeah, Zelda's one of the best games ever made and is even better here.

Theres also the fact that loads of people have never even played the game, and so age makes no difference there, not that age makes a difference anyway, the game is better than its ever been (which is saying alot really).

I have played it and still don't think it's enough of an improvement to warrant it being remade. Sure the extra screen for the menu's and being able to quick change the boots at the water temple helps but it doesn't look a great deal better than the N64 version. I have bought, played & completed the game quite a few times over the years and have also completed the Master Quest on the Cube and seeing as there's nothing else hugely impressive out or coming out in the future for the 3ds i don't think i'd pay ?100 quid for a 3ds let alone ?200.

I also think it just plays alot better as well, the Zelda games are a perfect fit for a handheld becuase of the way they are structured, they can be played in small doses as well as long runs. The gameplay does seem to have been tightened up quite a bit too, its not a stright port from a gameplay standpoint, it does actualy play alot better despite what tweaks there are probabaly only being minor
Also, isnt the version of master quest different on the 3DS than the one on the cube? I read there were differences.Last edited by rmoxon; 23-06-2011, 21:09.

At one point during development Master Quest 3DS was said to be different but I think it ended up the same as on the Cube disc. The game is definitely mirrored (so left is right, etc. like Wii Twilight Princess) and enemies do more damage than usual, but not sure there are any other changes.
This 3DS debate is a bit silly. Every console has a pretty lacking first 6-12 months, doesn't it? It's funny reading old topics and seeing people talk about a 360 drought. It's almost impossible to believe such a thing happened now. It's up to each individual to decide when something becomes worth buying in their eyes. That's it, basically, isn't it?
