I never once experienced a good use of the microphone playing the DS. It always either humiliated me in public (99% of games) or frustrated the hell out of me (the glitchy pan pipes in Spirit tracks that wouldn't recognise when I'd stopped blowing)

What bothered me was that the games looked not much better than I remember DS games looking but with 3D tacked on. Really underwhelming.

Obviously, you need to go back and play the DS to refresh your memory.

Now, I haven't played the 3DS, but games like Resident Evil and Street Fighter seem to be light years ahead of anything the DS could produce. I'd imagine in a couple of years the difference is a lot bigger.

Just ordered a Hori Compact Pouch in blue for my Aqua Blue 3DS. Not bad for ?6.21. I had the same sort of thing for my DSi so am continuing the trend.

The graphics where you see it in person are mind blowing, the trailers you see online dont do it justice, infact in 3d mode the picture looks almost high def and much cleaner than with the slider off anyone else notice that?

This is kind of the same sort of criticism the original DS got when it was first shown though, people doubting the 2 screens and the touch interface, plus there was the fact that the PSP was it's competitor with much better graphics.

This. I remember that a lot, if not most, of the response towards the DS was negative, before the DS itself launched.

£196.99 on GAME's site now. Literally changed as I was searching through games to pre-order. (For some reason there was one in my basket at £219.99 but when I changed to a different page the new price was shown.)

Ended up ordering one and leaving my ShopTo one open, just in case they decide to drop as well, then can make a decision.

I thought the hardware would be hard to find discounted, but games would be cheaper. Not found a nice price on Pilotwings anywhere

Cancelled my Asda pre-order as I suspect I've zero chance of getting it on the Friday, going to pop into morrisons at lunch at pre-order from them.

This price war is getting pretty brutal now, that's probably a reflection on how likely the pre-order stocks are likely to be sold out.

Well I let that f**ker in GAME show me it running in today, & I am impressed.
Didnt know u could still play DS games on it due to it having an on/off 3D switch. Very handy as I've got a few DS games that I bought on the cheap but have yet to buy a DS of any sort yet!!
And he mentioned a load of other things it can do that I cant remember now.

Very tempted if I can scrape some cash together from somewhere.

GAME maybe selling it online for 197 but the guy in the shop still said it was 225

They are run by the hut who are usually pretty slow at getting me things (not sure i've ever pre-ordered mind)

Are they Jersey based? It might simply be that Dundee is a fair distance so things take longer for me...

Part of me must think I'll get it Friday as i ordered it to work. With no weekend access, it'll be Monday at the earliest for me otherwise
