What did they like/dislike about Splinter Cell, particularly the single player?

This sounds blood fascinating. I had at one time been tempted to pitch something vaguely similar, but then didn't bother. So basically, it is examples where games are mentioned in people's fictional story books?

It's nothing new, but it's still a good game

Erm, I'm not sure. Yes, I think so, but there may still be room for another article like that. This one, at a glance, seems to focus on 3 authors:
Greg Keyes, who writes original novels based on videogame IPs, e.g., the Elder Scrolls novels.
Tim Etchells, who has written a novel about how a fictional game takes over someone's life as disasters affect his personal life.
PJ Tracy, who has written a novel about a series of copycat murders linked to a game being designed.

It seems like three microstudies of media based around gaming, it's not a comprehensive study of loads of examples.

Last few days of working in game I loved telling all the kids how bfbc2 was by far the very best online Console shooter ever made.
To see those very words in the online review made me smile

GamesTM covers have improved considerably in the last few months. I've always had a high opinion of GamesTM covers, but found the focus upon gun-toting marines/aliens/soliders/random people for many of the covers between #71-85 to be increasingly repetitive. I love the games themselves, but find the artwork completely uninteresting.

They've always been good and tried to put a little in there from the gamers side of things rather than being a mere agenda-pushing, advert pleasing publication. Their layout has become more professional and streamlined in the last year or so but they've always struck the balance between satisfying on all sides (just about).

Some one at Imagine must be giving Mr. Butt a run for his money. Also, nice to see SSFIV got a good score but with seeing all the footage there'd have to be a major **** up in the final release for it to get anything less.

For me with worry with SSFIV was the milking that happened with SF2

I'm intrigued! What were the "cons" that kept Bad Company 2 from being a 10/10 for online?

I'd still say there is room for improveMent in regards to the lobby/party system
