Achievement Progress Percentage

I know that we have other threads which deal with Achievements but this is a little different as it's not about a leaderboard or something like that, it's purely out of curiosity.

Late last year I decided to change my gaming habits so that I buy less games and play the games that I do have more. I was having a look through the games to see how much I'd completed in them and I started looking at the percentage of Gamerscore & Achievements that I had compared to what is available in the games I've played and I seem pretty poor at the moment.

I'm just wondering what sort of percentage other people have? I know that you can remove games with no achievements and that somebody who's just started with a 360 could be running at 100% but that doesn't really matter, it's purely out of interest and it's not about competing with other people's scores.

It's nice and easy to work out using the middle section of this Percentage Calculator. I'm not really interested in the number of Achievements or Gamerscore that people have but I'll show my pretty laughable scores here to illustrate what it is that I'm interested in.

GAMERSCORE (7635/49855) - 15%
ACHIEVEMENTS (503/2385) - 21%
TOTAL - 18%

What sort of percentages are other people getting? Anybody close to 50%?

From the achievements league thread:

These numbers are slightly adjusted. It ignores any games that are less than 5% complete AND haven't been played in over a month. This gives people the opportunity to abandon a game that they aren't enjoying.

Thanks peeven, did have a look at that thread but didn't really cover what I was interested in due to it being weighted to remove certain games and it's something people have chosen to enter to compete in.

Just looking for a less specialist figure to get an idea as to what people in general are doing.

The weighting doesn't vary the actual figure much, no more than one or two percent either way.

Anyway, my unedited figures;

Gamerscore: 102404 / 135935 (75.33%)
Achievements: 4595 / 5885 (78.06%)

To be honest, I'm surprised mine is still over 75% since I've not been concerned about this sort of thing for a while. In the past I think it was closer to 80% and I would doggedly stick with the same game and try and finish it, or at least get a decent score from it before moving on to something else. Recently though, I've just been playing what I feel like playing and haven't been finishing any games. In fact, I've barely earned any G's since I clocked up the 100K in early January.

Peeveen, can you explain the DLCDiff thing? I've never understood whether a small number or a big number is the thing to have there or what.

It's the difference that would be made to the main percentage if there was no such thing as DLC.

About 33% for me. I tried a while ago to concentrate on getting it up over 50%, but I've started so many games it would take forever. That plus the shiny shiny new games. And games that are just damn stingy with achievements. Ridge Racer for eg. *shrugs*

I belong to that group of people who choose their games very carefully then play them to death. 'Tight arses' and "cheapskates' I think some people call us.

I'm impressed! I wouldn't use the descriptors that you use though, I think it's a good thing and I wish I was able to say I had that sort of playtime from the games I own.

I used to be really poor and would end up buying loads of games at launch even if I had loads on the go at the time. I still buy too many but I'm not as bad as I was and find that I'm enjoying them more due to this.

Of course, I still buy games that I just don't enjoy and it's unlikely I'll get any serious play out of those but I do like to give the games a fair chance before dismissing them.

Where are people getting the figure for amount of games played or are they just adding them up manually?
