Rock Band (The Beatles)

I'm after a bit of advice. I'm thinking of buying the Beatles Rock Band and was wondering what they key differences were between rock band and guitar hero.
Also I'm going to really be playing this on my own mainly and was wondering if you can buy rock band with just a guitar or do you have to buy it with the whole package (Guitar, Drums etc).
Bit of a novice when it comes to music games so any help would be much appreciated.

People seem to prefer the Guitar Hero guitar, Ive never used a Rock Band one so i cant personaly tell you the difference, all i can say is that the Guitar Hero one is held in higher regard.

You can get the whole set of instruments and beatles rock band or just the game on its own, I dont think I have ever seen it with just the guitar though. Could be wrong though.

In truth, unless its a money issue I would recommend you get the drums as well as a guitar anyway, they are great fun.

Rockband Guitar has frets at the top and the bottom of the neck of the Guitar whilst a Guitar Hero guitar has only frets at the top,and for me the RB Guitar wins hands down as useing the frets at the lower end of the neck is far easier for me than the ones at the top as i find the top ones on both the RB Guitar and GH Guitar far to wide apart for me to feel comfortable with.

Cheers. One last question. Can you just play the beatles rock band with just the guitar or do you need more than just one player?

You can play it as a one player game and play any instrument you like (which basicaly makes it 4 different single player games, Guitar, bass. drums and vocals) or you can play 2-4 player multiplayer.

You can even play on your own using the guitar AND singing the song at the same time if you want... or drum and sing... though thats increadabley hard.

You can try it but I personaly dont have the feet for holding the guitar, maybe someone else on here does though...

B:RB also supports multiple vocalists for the harmonies if you have enough mics.

got this over xmas and it was my first instrument game for some time.

great fun and all the family got involved. recommended.
