This week's Famitsu has a first look at Neo Geo Heroes Ultimate Shooting, a PSP vertical bullet hell shooter so big that it contains the entire Sky Stage as just one of its modes of play!

Different from the KOF-centered Sky Stage, Ultimate Shooting brings together characters from across the Neo Geo spectrum. The magazine lists such classic characters as Akari Ichijou, Marco Rossi, Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Iroha, Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Athena Asamiya and Kula Diamond.

That's a lot of stuffs! Due for Japan in July.

Spent a couple of credits on it back in Tokyo, largely unimpressed by almost everything in the game.

Can't believe I haven't heard of this already. It says that it includes a full port of KOF Sky Stage too. It'd be pathetic playing it on a PSP Go though, so I assume it'll be UMD only, which means I'll get it asap. Go physical discs, boxes and instruction manuals!

I strongly doubt anything will ever topple DariusBurst from the top of the PSP shmup tree.

This is out now on the Japanese (Y3990) and HK (HK$320) PSN if anyone is interested.

My disc copy is preparing for shipping along with the budget re-release of Pop'n Portable. Fully expecting it to be awful, but would welcome some first impressions. Everything I heard about KOF Sky Stage was far from positive.
