DSi question

I'm thinking of buying a dsi but i just had a thought am i able to play my imports ds and maybe dsi games when they come out
Is it the same as a ds

Like the DS and DS Lite, the DSi is completely region unlocked for cartridge games. However, it can only access the DSi Store of the country of origin. Plus if you have a Japanese one the interface language is locked to jpn.

The DSi is completely region free for DS games, but DSi specific games are region locked. But there's like, one of those, and probably won't be any more with the 3DS on the way.

Some DSi Only and DSi Enhanced games are region locked, there have already been a few games come out that are locked to the hardware.

Someone recently said apparently Sonic Collection DS was DSi locked it said on the back of the box like so.

Idolm@aster DS is another that uses dsi features so is locked to jpn dsi's

You made a good choice the XL has superior speakers they are crazily loud compared to the light & i. The screens are amazing too

If your ditching the 'Lite, remember there is no GBA slot on a DSi, so no more Guitar Hero On Tour / Digassio Band Bros. expansion cart / GBA games on DS / possibly other things.

I have an XL in turd brown (upgraded from a Lite), looks great and is amazing to play, really enjoying the super-big-o-vision and decent sound. Prefer it to my girlfriends DSi, though her satin dark blue looks better than my shiny brown over bronze affair. Also, they're not much bigger than an original phat DS.
