God of War: Ghost of Sparta PSP

Ready At Dawn are ready again with another PSP offering.
God of War fans – I’m pleased to share some exciting news involving our favorite Spartan warrior. Fresh off his incredible run in God of War III, Kratos will be coming back to PSP and PSPgo in God of War: Ghost of Sparta! The last time we saw Kratos on the portable platform was in [...]

    They are providing.
"Over 25% more gameplay, an improved weapon system, and new magical powers — all enjoyed anytime, anywhere."
Over 25% more should get it up to about 50%.

Assuming that's accurate, adding a quarter to the game should get it somewhere around the 8 hour mark which I think is OK for a single handheld playthrough. It gets back to an interesting time in the storyline as well - even though Kratos had been elevated to God of War he still was haunted by his memories so it should be easy enough to justify more RAGE!

I really wish they'd sort out emulating the PSP on the PS3 though. I still have mine, but I'd still much rather play this on the PS3. Hmm, maybe they can use the PSP+ functionality they used on Resistance Retribution and allow you to output it to the PS3 and use the DS to control it? In fact, have they used that anywhere other than Resistance so far?

1Up preview says sometime in 2010...

i'm thinking of getting me a PSP component video cable to at least play this on a big screen. even if just upscaled it should make the experience more true to the PS2 games i guess. have you tried this already?

I haven't tried it no, because I never picked up Resistance in the end. If there were more games that I'm interested in that used the functionality well I might have bought one, but as I said I think it's just Resistance.

With a PSP Go you can do this with any game. I have a Dual Shock 3 paired with my Go. Very nice for Gran Turismo PSP.

I never managed to talk myself into getting a Go (I was close at one point though). I really don't use handhelds enough to warrant more expenditure - not since the GBA anyway. I've bought and sold more handhelds than I care to remember.

The original PSP game was absolutely fine for a handheld game anyway!

COO is my favorite GoW game! Not played 3 yet though.

@45 I can't really recommend a PSP Go despite some of the nice features it has.

actually i was talking of just outputting the video through a suitable cable...

so you mean you can play every (!) PSP game on your PS3 including DS controller support? why is this feature PSP Go exclusive?

It's a feature of the Bluetooth support unfortunately.

@Jebus. Yeah I didn't have a problem either, but it gets a lot of hate from people who somehow played through it in ~3 hours.

Cool! This is great news. I loved the last PSP God of War, though felt it remarkably abrupt (more to do with the pacing and structure than the actual length in my opinion).

I just bought the God of War collection (only played GoW1 before) and God of War 3 so I'm just getting stuck into those now.

                        I'll gladly take more.

Sweet news, I really liked the first PSP game.

I thought, however, Ready At Dawn had said they'd given up on PSP development to concentrate on "big" projects? Can't remember where I saw that.

Everywhere, it was pretty well publicised. I assume Sony filled their hats with money to ensure they gave it another go.
