What are they like in your experience?

For me, they're a bit slow with dispatching orders and it takes at least a couple of days. I've become all too familiar with the "Awaiting Stock pick" lark that it's not even funny anymore. I've also had games delivered from them that have been blatantly resealed, too.

Overall, I can't say I've been all that impressed with them and I doubt I'll use them again.

They have been really good until recently, so I stopped using them now and went back to GAME.co.uk.

Usually I got games from them a day or two before release, but the last game I got from them (2010 FIFA World Cup) turned up the Saturday after it was released. Couple that with people saying similar things (or even worse), I decided to stop using them.

No problems with the condition of games or anything though. The customer service is also really good. I returned a couple of games I forgot to cancel before I ordered elsewhere and it was a hassle free process. Called them up, got a returns number, sent them back (via freepost), they told me when they received them and 2 days later I was refunded the money.

If their delivery times go back to how they were before, then I would go back to ordering from them. For the time being though, I shall stick with GAME.co.uk.

Ordered one thing from them and it arrived damaged.

However, the customer service was astoundinglygood and they made everything better. I went out of my way to personally thank the lady who helped me out, if every business had customer service that good, there'd be a lot more happy customers.

They do seem to adopt the "send a shipping email even though we've not shipped yet" policy, and the packaging for the limited edition box I had delivered was very dubious.

Both my FF13 and BBlue LEs arrived in a standard jiffy bag and damaged.

I used to have very good things to say about them - Darksiders, Bayonetta and BioShock 2 arrived a couple of days early. Lately they seem to take longer than most comparable sites to dispatch 'in stock' CDs, blu-rays etc.

Oh and I had my Split/Second dispatch email on Wednesday morning, with no sign of the game. Wanted to give it a battering today before I get stuck into Red Dead.

Can't knock Zavvi at all. Always on time and sometimes earlier. That preorder guide is a bit **** for red dead though.

I use them (together with sister company THe Hut) all the time.

NO issues from my side. Some great deals now and then.

Zavvi used to be amazing for me up until Xmas. The shortened version of the story goes:-

I ordered a Blu-ray from them at the start of November and despite only wanting one I received two confirmation emails.

I emailed them to point this out and that I only wanted one copy. Got no response and a day later received two dispatch emails.

No problem thinks I, one will go back. Except neither of them arrived. Numerous emails sent well before Xmas asking them to sort it. Got one response a few days before last post and then nothing.

After giving them reasonable time with Xmas and New Year I chased it up. Cutting the story even shorter I finally got a refund for both items that I'd never received in April, but not after being accused of everything from me not being able to use their website properly, to them denying all knowledge of my orders!

Tldr - they're great when things run smoothly. If you run into a problem then you're in for a very long and frustrating experience trying to sort it.

My Red Dead didn't turn up from Zavvi on release day. I was getting it delivered to work so I won't get it until Monday now either. Looks like back to Game from now on, because if I get a game on release day from there it's been slow.

The weird thing is they've been amazing for Blu-rays when I've used them, like I got the Toy Story BDs almost a week early.

My housemate's had all kinds of issues where he orders things that are in stock and a month later it just never ships. Think he bought some sunglasses off their too once which were packaged in just a jiffy bag, which funnily enough ended up in a hell of a state.

I've not used them too much but am already falling foul of their promise of stock. I bought 3 things last Sunday in their 'Mega Monday' sale (go figure) - one shipped that day, another on Wednesday, and the third is now being sourced from a supplier. Whilst I'm not that bothered about getting it in a rush, I can imagine my frustration if it was.

My frustration with them is pretty well documented on this forum. Like others have said they can be ok, but when things go wrong they are a pain to deal with. My experience with their customer service is poor, and as far as pre orders go, they are most definatly a no go area for me.

I've had some problems with customer services lying to me several times, they might have some good prices but personally I've taken to waiting until can buy for same price elsewhere.

Just before xmas I bought Arkham Asylum, Borderlands and a DVD boxset from them. The games were ?17.99 each and the box set ?20. A few days later my bank rang me about something unrelated and were listing recent purchases. Zavvi had charged me ?58 the day I ordered then another ?36 the next day. I rang them and they denied this, customer service rep disappeared for a few minutes and came back and said she'd checked and only one charge. I pointed out it was my bank that told me and would she mind if I conferenced them in. Immediately was told they had been having problems with their billing system and most people who ordered games that day had been double charged. No explanation for why people hadn't been told. Was told I'd get a refund in next few days.

A week later, the games had just arrived but no sign of the DVD box set. The had refunded me but only ?18. Emailed several times, no response. Several days later got an email from them saying they had dispatched two copies of Arkham Asylum and to return the second one in the provided envelope. Rang them up and was told that I wouldn't get the last ?18 back until I returned the second copy of Arkham Asylum. Pointed out the unsolicited goods act and told would get a refund which never happened.

By now it was xmas, no 2nd copy of Arkham Asylum arrived. Waited until a week or two into January as they don't seem to reply to emails and rang again. Once again promised a refund. End of January still not appeared. Gave it a final go mid February and finally got a refund.

I only ordered 1 item this was November 2010 and it arrived the next day could not believe it, charged correctly.

Seams like i got lucky from whats being said here.

I have had problems in the past with HMV (never ever again) and Send it, but Zavvi were great.

While i am here i just want to mention Gamestation. 2 weeks ago i ordered a pre owned Animal Crossing + Wii Speak (was the only way i could get the Wii Speak (for Monster Hunter as i had the game). At ?14.99 for both i did not mind as the places that had Wii Speaks in wanted between ?20 and ?30. The next day the item arrived with a nice letter from Gamestation, explaining that it was a mistake and the item should not have been listed as it was not instock. However as a gesture of good will the sent me a new copy of the Animal Crossing Wii Speak bundle (and only charged me the ?14.99).

                              That is amazing customer service.
