Big Killzone2 fan here too, loved it, in fact still do. Easiest gaming decision I'm going to make for a long time is pre-ordering this as soon as it becomes available.

My only complaint is that you can't copy your gamesave.

I thought that until I played God of War 3, I think that just knocked KZ2 off the top spot, it's still an incredible looking game. Geurilla's addition of colour to KillZone 3 should set the game up for being best looker for some time to come though.

Let's be honest though, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 are the three best looking games of the generation, but yeah Killzone 2 is definitely the best looking FPS out there.

Like Matt, I've kept it to replay one day, which as he also says, I don't often do.

Yep. Those three games are all keepers for me - not only great graphics, but great gameplay as well

so here's what i wish for:

            - weapon limit raised to at least 2 weapons of choice + pistol
            - more powerful assault rifles
            - and/or less bullet sucking enemies
            - improved aiming
            - better AI
            - co-op modes including campaign
            - more likeable ISA characters or a Helghan campaign
Just these two and I'll be happy. I just couldn't enjoy Killzone 2 because of the aiming controls. The fact that you could effectively only carry 1 gun just sucked all of the fun out for me.

God of War 3 is graphically a bit inconsistent imo. Especially those Pandora face close ups and some levels look a bit poor. Killzone 2 was to me one big graphical tour de force, while maybe a bit too generous on the motion blur.

I actually hoped that ISA would be ditched for the Helghast altogether, as the ISA aren't half as interesting. And, I hope a Mech level makes a return. I really enjoyed this in K2. Owned the snot out of FEAR 2's touted mech stages.

K2 is being bitched on without reason. Critics lamented its dark and gray settings (hello gears of war), lack of humour... in any case a lot of stupid reasons to bash a game. And then hyping an unbalanced and cheat infested trainwreck such as MW2 up.. way to go.

Supposed to be out by May 2011. Good, as for this year Crysis 2 is kind of grabbing my attention.

oh yes, let's add less motion blur to my above wish list - the amount applied in Killzone 2 is simply annoying and i always wondered how so many gamers didn't notice or even care.

Even though it was far from my favorite game of the year 9or even fav FPS) I still loved Killzone 2. But still, it seemed impossible to complete a couple of the levels on the hardest difficulty, so I never had much of a chance to get all the trophies. Hopefuly they will do a better job in this respect with part 3.

Thats all though really, I expect it will be great all the same.

Hmm, the million bullets per enemy - or so it seemed at times was a lazy way to make the game more difficult but not such a big problem personally.

As far as the motion blur, I don't really notice any apart from the tip of the gun. The tv has a response rate of 6ms and someone on another forum has a 4ms monitor and doesn't notice any.

Impressive if they managed to get this running in 3D and 30fps.

Apparently Killzone 2 only used 4.5 out of 6 Cell cores:

Very small wishlist item but... no leaderboard based trophies

Developers who use them should be shot.

I would include Gear of War II in that list , there's moments in that game, that look every bit as good if not better than the games listed above . Though it does seem the PS3 has the edge for Depth of Field and Motion Blur effects , in fairness Resident Evil 5 also looks just amazing (please no comments RE4 is better). I must say I'm amazing at Alan Wake II too.

But in terms of pushing polygons on screen, I don't think any game comes close to Killzone II, not even GOW III

Don't want to derail this but yeah, I think we're getting what we expected with the PS3. Dedicated Sony devs are creating things that are risky (Demon's Souls, LBP even) and/or look amazing and often eclipse what the 360 has or is probably even capable of. The trade-off is the multi-platform titles that looks and play fantastic on 360 but range from inferior (RDR, Ghostbusters) to broken (Skate, Orange box) on PS3.

Agreed, 100%. Those trophies were just a war of attrition in KZ2 - I got the first one (top 10% if I remember correctly?) at the height of my playing the game so I don't want to know how much more I needed to play the game to get the others.

I'm not a fan of them either, I managed to get the top 1%(?) one after basically playing solidly for the whole week - but it effectively killed the game for me as I got tired with it and haven't gone back to it since.

Looking forward to KZ3 though - hopefully they'll retain the excellent multiplayer and we can resurrect the NTSC clan to get some games in.
