    Split Second or Blur

To those who have played both - if you could only get one which one would it be?

Apologies if this has already come up somewhere.

    I am lazy.

Both are excellent with great graphics, sound and playability

Blur will last you longer (if its just for the single player mode). Theres a fair bit more to blur too (cars/power ups). I clocked split second with nearly full golds in about 5 hours.

i find Split second has more 'wow' factor, but its short lived

Are you asking which one people would reccomend? If so, that's a damn hard question to answer without giving some of your own preferences?

For example, Blur appeals more to me because I loved Mario Kart, but Split/Second also appeals because I adored Burnout Paradise.

        Cheers.

Yeah I am going to get one of them at lunch time but can't decide!

        I really liked PGR.

I find Mario Kart to be a bit annoying.

Pure was OK and in contrast I think I prefer Motorstorm 2.

Oh and I don't have time for online play at the moment.

It'd really hard to say, both career progressions are known to get a bit samey, but then that's racers for you.

Blur is apparently very very grindy in single player, and the meat of the game is online. However, Split/Second is known to kind of blow it's load up front. No way you can try the demo's of both?

I don't think either are like Motorstorm 2 though.

To me it sounds like you'd prefer Split/Second, but I'd yield to anyone more knowledgable...

Cool - thanks for the info. Merf - I will probably get MNR for the PSP unless that is a terrible idea. I need a game to play on it!

The 'demo' of Blur was the beta, which is no longer available.

I can see both games being available cheap in a few month's time. If online racing is your thing, I would definitely get Blur so you get to play the game whilst everyone is still discovering stuff.

I find the later Mariokarts very annoying, but Blur isn't the same. It's incredibly well balanced and the beta definately helped them even out the racing. It's common in a race on Blur to lead the field by some distance, then be caught up and smacked around back into 5th place, only to have a great run at the end and just win back first place as you cross the line.

Not since L4D have I shouted 'F*ck Yeah!!!!' at the screen so many times.

I'm gonna slide onto the side of the fence that says out of the two, if you plan on playing it online at all then Blur has to win hands down.

I think I am going to go with Split Second as well.

Maybe try and pick up Blur when SS is over with.

                          Thanks for the responses fellas.

I own both. SS for Single Player, but it doesn't last long. Blur for multiplayer.
