Will they make the garage training mission mandatory?

They're keeping that yellow theme? It leaves a ****ty taste in my mouth called Driv3r.

Quite liked the teaser, brought back many memories of people bringing in their memory cards into the indie game store and got me to do it for them.

If that happened again, there would be sheer panic on the internet streets.

Todays games are less unforgiving, so I guess its optional or either the timer is been increased tenfold. Or the car damage has been tampered with.

One thing is sure though, and that is that it won't be as rock hard as it once was

But I'm looking forward to this. I replayed Driver on the PsOne last year, and the gameplay still stands. The handling is pretty good. The game doesn't work since then though (keeps freezing during memorycard screen).

By the way, the name of the Driver is... ofcourse you know who. Its the same.

          It's called Driver: San Fransico

it doesn't seem to be a remake but they're basing it on alot of Driver 1/Driver 2 history/gameplay though.

              Maybe they're seperate projects actually.

              Seems unlikely though

Yeah that was a SERIOUS palm to face moment, looks at this cool feature you can hover around the entire map as a bloody spirit and enter cars.
                Tanner doesn't know this though...jesus!

                    Driver San Francisco

Did a search for "Driver San Francisco" and nothing came up...

                    Here's the official site:
Welcome to the official website for Ubisoft, creator of Assassin's Creed, Just Dance, Tom Clancy's video game series, Rayman, Far Cry, Watch Dogs and many others. Learn more about our breathtaking games here!

With crime lord Charles Jericho now on the loose San Francisco faces a terrible threat. Only one man can stand against him. He has driven the streets of a hundred cities, spent his whole life putting criminals behind bars. But to take Jericho down, there can be no turning back, and he knows that this may very well be his last ride. His name is John Tanner. He is the DRIVER.
Developed by Ubisoft Reflections, creators of the original title, DRIVER SAN FRANCISCO is the return of the established action driving video game series that has sold 14 million copies worldwide. Gamers play John Tanner, a hardened detective involved in a relentless manhunt throughout the City by the Bay. Thanks to a groundbreaking gameplay feature, players can now seamlessly shift between more than a hundred licensed vehicles, keeping them constantly in the heart of the action. With its timeless atmosphere, unique car handling and renewed playability, DRIVER SAN FRANCISCO offers the free-roaming, classic, cinematic car chase experience.
There's a Dodge Challenger Collector Edition coming out too if you like shiny yellow muscle cars flying through the air!

I loved the first game and kinda miss powersliding those musclecars around long corners chasing after some perp (but not avoiding those FBI cars...).

Woah, just looked around a bit more and according to Wiki, it sounds a bit bonkers!

                      Plot

The game takes place inside John Tanner's mind, which has been left in a coma after the events of Driv3r. Tanner is trying to hunt down crimelord and longtime rival Charles Jericho, albeit Tanner doesn't know that he's in a coma.[5][3]
                      Gameplay

The game is similar to previous games in the series. The player controls Tanner in various missions through the streets of San Francisco. A new feature is "Shift", which allows Tanner to shift into another car and continue the mission.[5] The player can recharge the Shift meter by doing things like long powerslides, big jumps and driving into incoming trafic. Martin also said that one of the inspiration for the Shift comes from the Google Earth.[5] For the first time in the series, the game will include over 120 fully damageable licensed vehicles including Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Ruf, Dodge Challenger, Pagani Zonda and the DeLorean DMC-12.[5] The Film Director mode, which was absent from Parallel Lines, will also return.[5] The on foot sections of previous games has also been scrapped.[5][6] The game also runs on 60 frames per second.[2] Martin also said that San Francisco will include one of largest driving environment seen, with about 208 miles of road.[6][3] The game's San Francisco will recreate various landmarks including the Bay Bridge and Marin County.[3] Multiplayer will also be available for the first time in the series with nine different game modes, including the Trail Blazer, where the player the has to follow the trail of an AI-controlled car.[6][3]
What, what? He's dreaming all this and he can teleport to other cars?!

There's a gameplay demo up on Gamersyde. He's not dreaming, he's in a coma - but he thinks he's awake.

Love that vid. The in car view is superb and the car physics look lovely and weighty. Driver is one of my fave PS1 games and I'm so glad they're returning to it as a source of inspiration.

Sound nice, but I will wait for review and word of mouth first. I just don't trust the development team's quality. (Don't know who is developing this)

Reflections - Destruction Derby/2 and Driver amongst others. How much of the original staff remain is anybody's guess though.
