Kotick is still a dick. WoW aside (Which I'm telling myself doesn't count), I've yet to give Activision a single penny since they decided to hike the price on MW2.
Price Hike? I thought the game was only selling cheaply at launch due to all the supermarkets wanting a price war, I think Kuntick can be forgiven for this one can't he?

No, The RRP of MW2 is higher than other AA(A) games.

dont be so unfair. he only raised the price to ?54.99 because of the exchange rate.

its not his fault the money markets have a big spike once a year at COD launch time.

Oh right, yeah - forgot all about that!

How ironic, given that it probably ended up being the cheapest game I bought new at launch for the whole of 2009. A whole 19.99 from Makro.

I seem to remember Kotick excuse being pretty much because people will buy it anyway. And he was right.

That will probably explain his bizarre stance that people WANT to pay additional subs for MW2 online gaming.

Did this clown spawn out of the same gene pool as George W Bush or something?

I'm just thankful that the decision hasn't started a trend. That was the concern - that the success of MW2 would have sent out the wrong message to other publishers. As it turns out, the retailers absorbed the additional expense.

I bought MW2 from Sainsbuys for £25 and took it to Gamestation to trade in on the Assasins Creed 2 special edition. They gave me £36 exchange for it so I thank Activision for my cheap Ezio figure that's pride of place on my shelf.
As for charging for Modern Warfare, they would have to pay me. Bad Company beats it by a country mile

I don't think people would pay to see CGI cutscenes lifted straight from a game. The people interested would probably just rather play the game and see the cutscenes while playing.

I can however see fans paying for new material made into a short movie that would be available in addition to the actual game if it would be priced correctly, $30 would be way too much.

A Blizzard-made World of Warcraft or StarCraft "movie" might make quite a nice profit for example.

Another day, another bout of Kotick drivel. This time claiming that Activision no longer percieve any other company within the sector as competition as they aren't even a threat. His aim is for Activision to be the single biggest entertainment company in the world. As someone in their comments section suggests, the most entertaining element to Activision is no doubt going to be the fascinating retrospective books and features that are written after its mismanaged demise. Activision seem to have developed an inability to develop major new IP's and with their existing ones losing steam one by one they'll eventually do an EA and sink. The day will come when they're effectively just Blizzard at the current rate. Old, old, old school mistakes happening here

He's on fire today as his emerging fansite dedicates much of it's front page to Kotick news:

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

                                "Kinect Costs Too Much"

True, but ironic considering who's claiming it

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

                                "Schafer Was Wrong"

True, but then Schafers accusations were too

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

                                "EA Is Struggling"

                                Stupid thing to say

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

"West, Zampella Will Never Be Successful Again"

As stupid as EA saying Bungie will never be successful again
