I have to laugh at Microsoft for not predicting this sort of thing would happen Especially if it's clearly ready, with features that people have been begging them for, and they just won't put it out.

Wonder if this will prompt them to release it early?

Has anyone installed it on one machine with hd attached, then put said hd onto another machine ?

Just to confirm... If I choose to install games onto my 360 HDD, I will be able to play games without having to hear my 360 drive go into hoover noise mode? If true, I cannot wait for this update.

Also, if I was to buy a 360 120GB HDD, is there an easy way to get data from my existing 20GB HDD onto it?

Won't work - well it wiil work but it just won't get around the connection thing.

In participation with this program, you should not move your storage device (hard drive, or memory unit if you do not have a hard drive) to any other console as it will also update that console. If an unregistered console is updated with the NXE update, that console will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE until the NXE has been officially released on November 19th.
          Oh and according to Destructoid

Yup, the install files for the New Xbox Experience have made their way to the Internet, and it certainly works to update your console. But as Platform Nation (who went ahead updated their system with these files) puts it, "You can not connect online with it till November 19th." Well, here's a little surprise: you might not be able to connect again. Ever. Period.

Earlier today, press participating in the New Xbox Experience program (myself included) were warned to not switch the hard drives from our updated consoles to another unit. Microsoft later clarified to us by saying, "This is a security measure and if you do switch hard drives from a console with NXE preview access to one without it you could be placed on the ban list for unauthorized usage."

Right, so i updated from memory stick on one machine, installed PGR4 and Orange Box.

Put hard drive onto other machine, it auto updated, but it said when i tried to play PGR 'you can only play this on the machine it was originally installed on.'

Is this something to do with not being allowed to connect to LIve?

Oh, lets hope 'could' is the operative word

I don't think they will. Let's face it MS are getting all this extra test data for free and they don't have to support us.

They clearly have a database with a load of console ID's in that it validates against when you try to connect.

It wouldn't surprise me if they planned this. After all they could have made it a lot harder. As it stands u could do this accidently.

That's just the press scare mongering.

Was just thinking about it, and i tend to agree. Not too bothered if they do, i'd just get another rrod'd machine and put it in my case.

And like you say, was well easy.

Go to your acheivement list and highlight the game with 0 points, it says at the bottom of the screen X to delete game history

Yes - just make sure it comes with a transfer cable (I think most of the retail packs now do).

Press the Guide button and go to Achievements and as you scroll down the list games with 0G will allow you to press X to delete them.
