And the feedback itself is classic...

"BE AWARE!!! HE IS SELLING "PICTURE" OF PLAYSTATION 3 NOT THE CONSOLE!!! SCAMMER!"

          ...then the seller denies it.

...then you read the page again and realise he is indeed selling a picture.

Yeah a total con artist. If the page is read carefully it says:

Hi and welcome to my listing for a PICTURE of a brand new 250gb! slimline! Sony Playstation 3!!

Reported the auction but i doubt it will do any good, usually i say if you get caught out on **** like this it's your own fault but people like this on ebay just make it crap for everyone. Oh & those who sell pirate games.

17 sold! 3 in some cases... what a lovely bit of schadenfreude. Feel bad for laughing but seeing greed being rewarded in this manner doesn't happen very often...

I love how he suggests that dealing with a Powerseller with lots of feedback is a bad thing. Much better to give £140 to someone with no track record

I wish ebay would put some kind of restriction on how many high value items low feedback sellers can list at one time or over a period of time.

Nope, specifically against the Ebay terms and conditions to do a missleading auction of this nature now. They got a LOT of bad publicity from "Xbox box X Console" auctions and stamped down on it.

If paypal didn't do a chargeback in the past, a credit card company would. "it's the buyers fault for not paying attention" is not (usually) a valid defence for fraud.

I bought six. I figure I can sell the pictures on for £200 each and make a killing!

This has been going on for years. It happened with the PS2 and N64. Only then it was listed as "Brandnew N64 Box" or something like that.

You have to be a a bit of a spaz to fall for it if you can read even if your rushing.

Jesus!! Does nobody check feedback anymore? Even if you misread the description, you should always be weary of ANYONE with less than 100% feedback! LEt alone a MINUS!! Should be as simple as that really!

And no WAY would I buy anything for over a tenner from a new member with a zero rating.
