For me 5 is the definition of average and a score of 10 in percentile terms covers roughly a score of 90%-100% which makes it a perfectly usable score. Not using 10 is daft as you arguably couldn't use 0/1 either as an opposite extreme. So really you're just scoring out of 8.

Side note: I love Metroid Prime but it's final boss was also EPIC fail so no 10 there then!

I liked metroid prime until I got lost one day and just walked around in circles, put it down for 3 months, picked it up and walked around wondering wtf I was supposed to be doing. Then eventually gave up, it was nice at the time though.

She was one of those bosses that I've heard countless horror stories about, but had no problems with. GoW was the same - the amount of times I've heard people give up at the final fight and I can't comprehend why. Found both of those fights manageable and fun.

And I can use 0. Far Cry on the PC gets a zero for being the most bug filled piece of crap I've ever played. A genuinely broken game when I played it.

Yup, I'm one of the one's who had a nightmare of a time on Metroid Prime with the last boss. Uncharted 2's is badly done but once you learn the trick it's manageable, they should have definately just had a set piece instead though more like UC1. It's kind of like the thread Charles did about the joy of good gaming, arguing against high scores for quality titles on the basis that there's always technically improvements that can be made is pretty much just a case of being a bit miserable

For what little it is worth, here are some games I can think of that I would give 10/10.

Super Tennis
Super Mario World
Final Fantasy XII
Resident Evil 4
Super Metroid

These games have given me maximum enjoyment over the years. Completed them several times each and will do again for sure.

I didn't elaborate before, but I'll take the imho worst game of this list.

Resistance 2 is the worst Ps3 game I've owned. And I've owned Lair too. So that 4 wasn't random or anything. I rated MS1 just as low.. hmm... due to the AI which cost me a sixaxis.

I had expectation of R2, kind of liked the first although I found it to be overrated by a bit.

R2 just looked and sounded like a B-game, a weird thing if you see Ratchet and Clank almost pixar like qualities in motion (I can't stress enough that people need to play the underrated ACiT). Gameplay of R2 was crap (terrible, terrible layout), and it felt as if the lead was a dwarf as he was way too close to the ground. Lest not forget the absolutely bad, bad, BAAAD lighting that was all over the place. Some corners would be pitch black for no reason. Crappy boss battles anyone? Like that swarm... thing.. in the cave. Online multiplayer was a joke and looked and animated like Ps2 or something. Co-op, didn't really enjoy it but I guess it was the 'best' part of this game.

I agree, thought it was so much worse than the first. And I did enjoy the first 'at the time' mainly due to its 1p co-op, think I played it through a good 4 times in total. Looked quite nice at the time too being a launch game and all.

I quite enjoyed Resistance 2. I would rate it 7 at least.

Same here. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first (I don't know why they felt they needed to go for scale, the set pieces of the first were the best parts) but I did still enjoy the campaign and I like the fiction as well so the story was interesting to me. Parts of the game were incredibly tense as well.

I played a ****load of the co-op, which was incredible.

Also, many people on here suck at MotorStorm.
