    Another Century's Episode R: crazy mecha action on PS3

    I'm surprised no one is talking about this. Anywhere.

    CLICK for gameplay screen.

    From Wikipedia:
    Another Century's Episode: R (アナザーセンチュリーズエピソード アール, Anazā Senchurīzu Episōdo R?), abbreviated as A.C.E.: R, is a mecha action video game developed by From Software and published by Banpresto and Namco-Bandai. It will be released for the PlayStation 3 in August 19, 2010.

    A new dynamic shooting mode called Chase Mode has been added to the game. This mode is similar to arcade shooters wherein the player's machine moves on rails and leaves the targeting weapons for the player to control. Each chase mode section precedes a boss battle; the examples released so far include the battle against the Behemoth from Full Metal Panic! and the battle against Nora Polyansky from Macross Zero. It is currently unknown if the player can change the unit which participates in chase mode.
    I've also read elsewhere that due to licensing issues, this will NEVER get localised. So, let's recap:

    * It's got robots
    * It's based on popular series
    * It's action based
    * It features an arcade mode
    * It's by FROM SOFTWARE who have a track record of excellence
    * It's exclusive to Japan
    * It's released in 3 weeks

    * NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT

    Magazine scans.

    I saw it on the official SRW website but don't have a PS3 and have no plans to get one.

    Last time I'd checked there wasn't a release date.

    Oh and the licensing issues = Big West and their "Macross is ours!!" BS. At least that's the usual one.

      Oh man, that looks awesome.

      I could really go for another From mech game.

        i've had my eye on this too, but it seems incredibly expensive.
        so i had pretty much decided to forget about it till the inevitable platinum/best re-release.

          Didn't mean to sound like an a-hole. Every time I post about SRW games they just tend to disappear quite quickly so I've practically given up.

              F-ing excellent.
              I've still got all three. Though not the 2nd revision for A.C.E. 2 which has the subtitle: Special Vocal Version. Which really just has vocal mixes of the series various themes.

              But yeah, It's pretty much mega fan-service to SRW and the like, with its own original storyline mixed in with SRW timelines.

              It's all about the Brain Powerd mecha ftw

                I couldn't stand watching another episode of that anime. It was just boring in an odd way. Playing as Arbalest ftw.

                  Oh aye, I couldn't care much for that particular anime.
                  What I failed to mention was that playing with the Brain Powerd mecha (Nelly Brain) is just like god mode really. They're really that good with their speed/ shot tracking.

                    The scans look really nice. Something like this and the new Time Crisis title might force me to eventually purchase a PS3.

                      So far this is the only game I would buy on PS3.

                      *waits for backlash*
