It's OK, you're not alone. I didn't even get through the INSANE tutorial in the game. I should have just dived straight in.

The only time I ever remember my Dad playing a game was Keystone Capers on the 2600. He was briefly unemployed and I think he was just looking for a way to pass the time.

On the other hand my Mum used to be addicated to Bust a Move 2 and Pro Pinball on the PS1. It was a bloody nightmare when I was at home with a hangover. I would be trying to sleep and would just hear Bust a Move 2 noises!

My Dad has only ever played Scalextric on "Commondore" 64, and was pretty amazing at it TBH. He had lots to say about Barry Burton being a snide in Biohazard though.

My Mom is perhaps the world's greatest Ghouls 'n Ghosts player.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

Did your dad make many tracks on Scalextric?

Yeah! He'd spend hours making one only to find that they wouldn't perfectly match up, and then spend more hours re-designing them. I was prolly about 8 or 9 then. Great times.

Great thread - a trip down memory lane...
                My dad was addicted to:
                Tetris on gameboy.
                F15 Strike Eagle,
                Keystone Cops,
                Montezuma's Revenge,
                Boulderdash,
Mr Do's Castle, all on 800XL.
Then many years later... Tomb Raider. He bought PC version after playing on my PS. He then spent the next 6 weeks locked in his office playing it.

My dad was obsessed with football manager on my C16. He'd set himself up for the day in my room to play it, and I wouldn't get near my own computer. I'd still have to load it for the moron though, was glad to see the back of him. (No love lost!)

My mum also had a bash in the C16 days, on "punchy", which was basically a hunchback clone. She's never touched another game since. Well, unless you count patience on PC.

I remember my Mum playing Ghosts 'n Goblins on the NES when I was young. Don't think she ever managed to jump over the first gravestone.

My parents never played a thing, apart from the speccy games that I typed in from magazine covers, and only then it was to encourage me.

But as a father I'm already annoying my 6 year old when I borrow her Mario DS game, or use the Wii for anything else but Mario Galaxy 2! The coop mode on that one is great!

Sooo.... I guess my kids will be able to answer this thread in 10 years.

Your mum is cool then! My favourite game of all time, (The MD version I got in 1989 with my import "Adams world" package being my poison.) Which version is hers? Did you have it on Super Grafix or the x68000 or something?

Can she 1 credit the game? (Through two times)

                          My best is ...

My dad was only ever into Galaxians on the 2600, or Gameboy Tetris.

My dad took over the SNES for Pilotwings and Starfox. He was good at Pilotwings (played to completion on many occasions) He used to fix arcade cabs so he used to play quite a few of those too, his all-time favourite being Kyukyoku Tiger/Twin Cobra. He also disappeared into my bedroom to program my Spectrum. Despite his job he was a bit of a computer-phobe so it was surprising to see him beaming at the BASIC program that produced an analogue clock face.

My mum used to play Bumpy on the Spectrum. After that she was on to NES Tetris. After that she got addicted to Bust a Move and Gran Turismo and started playing Silent Hill. Bit of a role reversal when I bought her a PSOne and a copy of Gran Turismo 2 for Christmas.

Edit: Forgot that my mum used to play this a lot too:
