    Wii and 360 import owners

With the awesome region freeness of the PS3 and the general reduction in the import scene, who has bothered importing Wiis or 360s. It's probably far more relevant for 360s because Wiis can be softmodded so easily.

    So who's got what?

I have a US 360. Could do with a J one too though

At the risk of asking a stupid question, I can totally see why people would buy a J-360...but why would ever want a US one? What comes out in America that doesn't come out here?

When the 360 was released, there was still a significant gap between US and Euro releases. This generation has changed everything, at least as far as the 360 and PS3 are concerned.

Nintendo are still behind the times with releases, but as has been noted, it's almost trivial to convert your Wii into a completely region free console these days.

Funnily enough, I have a US PS3 - because I wanted backwards compatibility with US PS2 games. This isn't an issue with newer versions of the console, of course.

Most of the stuff makes it over here. Eventually.

Raiden Fighters Aces is just coming out over here. I've had it for a year.
Deadly Premonition might never make it.
I was playing Stoked for 6 months before it came over here, and for a long time there was no publisher lined up.
Skate a few weeks before the UK.

I only got it because it was so cheap, but I'm glad I did.

Had an NTSC-J 360 and sold it.

          Now I just have a UK-Pal Elite and Slim and a 250gb PS3 slim.

My Wii is softmodded as, at the time, Tasunoko Vs Capcom was never coming out in Europe.

I had a J360 but sold it onthese very forums. I enjoyed the games I had (Deathsmiles, idolM@ster L4U, Otomedius) but the expense of importing new releases because of the poor exchange rate was what prompted me to sell it. That, and I wasn't very good at the shooters!!

I have PAL and JPN Wiis, and all 3 region of 360s, but yeah, just the one PS3.

I've got an Xbox 360 from each region now but I started with a Japanese one in Mid-2006, before there were any Shmups, or any really compelling reasons to have one - I got RR6, DOA4 and TGM Ace with it, but Senko no Ronde Rev.X & Shutokou Battle X's imminent releases were definitely a factor.
At the time, my friends questioned my sanity until I pointed out that the games, dashboard, Xbox Live etc was in English and fully-compatible with their ?45 games that were costing me ?18-odd from Play-Asia.

My Wii is American. Normally I go for Japanese consoles, but post-360, I didn't like the idea of having to deal with Japanese menus etc again, plus there weren't many Japan-only games to convince me otherwise. I was actually just going to buy a PAL one to be honest, but couldn't because they were completely sold out, so I just imported an American one instead. NTSC-U games were cheaper than PAL at the time, but that situation has reversed.

Had a J-360 rrod could not afford the repair so sold it as buggered with the games, considering another one now that the slim is out, also had a us Wii no reason in particular just bought it as t'was reasonable in price at the shop as no-one wanted to pay import prices for games (was pre gecko)

                        US Wii and JPN X360.

Bought the Wii at launch, knowing the Nintendo will release a region-bound console and I would have bought games from NA retailers and being sure that US releases would have been sooner than European ones.
I also don't like modifying my consoles, so it was a no brainer for me.

The X360 was shipped by Play Asia years after its release, I was waiting for a "stable" hardware release. As with the Wii, I knew that I would have bought mostly JPN titles and how region locks were handled forced me to go for a Japanese console.

Being a massive Shmups fan I have a JP 360..

Purely for Ketsui, plat version of Death Smile contains Mega Black Label...

Both these games are worth the price of the console alone, couldn't afford the PCB of those games. Not too bothered about other games to be honest and I never go on Live.

                            I have PAL and NTSC-J 360's.

The JP unit is worth it alone for some of the great games.

I had Battle Fantasia an age before it got a PAL release. Also, Spectral Force 3 & DeathSmiles are reason enough to have one.

US Wii and a Jp 360.

US Wii is purely for full screen/full speed VC goodness. That's it. It's more of a SNES download system than anything else.

Jp 360 is for the obvious shooter choices; Deathsmiles & Ketsui make it well worth having.
