    Resistance 3 [PS3]

Although it was leaked a while ago it's just been announced at GamesCom, no date was given there but they did post a date of 2011 on their Twitter account.

The trailer shows absolutely nothing in all honesty but I really like it!

After the debacle that was No 2, this gets a big fat

    from me.

They're going to take something seriously impressive before I'll ever consider playing this.

Agreed, 2nd one was utter ballsack.

Even with no footage that already looks better than R2.

I got a sort of L4D vibe with the random survivors grouped together on the train.

        Can't wait to see screens.

With this and R&C it's good to see Insomniac not going all out multiplatform.

I won't deny the first half of that trailer is pretty cool though - the music and style with the building gore is pretty neatly directed.

I really didn't like either of the first two games to be honest. Having said that I really enjoyed the co-op in the second game even though it was the only thing in the two games I did enjoy.

The trailer had real Left4RedDeadResistance feeling to it and although there isn't necessarily anything suggesting what the game will play like I loved the feel of the trailer.

Loved the first, dont need to say anything about the second that hasn't already been said.

Love that trailer though, and im glad Insomniac are picking the gauntlet back up and giving it another go as the series still has potential.

Really enjoyed the first, playing through it again hardest level currently.

Also liked the second one apart from the lighting or lack of and the midget sized viewpoint.
The eight player coop was great.

                  Really nice trailer.

Though, it looks like Valve is still 6 years ahead of the competition, thematically speaking..

Resistance series was just kind of useless; there is Killzone already, or CoD.. Resistance 2 was nothing more than a sad joke.

They have to change it around to make it worthwhile, not another alien blasting run of the mill FPS.

They can make it work like Retribution which could be a decent GoW clone for Ps3. Or, and the trailer seems to point at it, it will become some sort of Left 4 Dead.

LOL this funny as when I saw the John's post a little voice said in my head, "Oooh God the second one was dire, I don't think I can face a third!"

Then I read what I said about it in firstplay and it reminded me that there were some glimpses of a good game. Maybe third time luck?

C_S Initial shock at the underwhelming nature of the game:

                      C_S calling the game "Pants"

One things 100% sure, if I do risk losing more of my life to a Resistance game it will be done when the price will be at ?17.99*

*i,e about 2 months from release....

Yeah, the single player of the second game was pretty dire. Still enjoyed it more than Halo 3 though

I liked the first one. I recall considering it every bit as good as CoD2 on 360 the year or so before and I was looking forward to seeing how the story would progress in sequels. Multiplayer was even better & it baffled me that so many online PS3 games afterwards couldn't implement online play as well but from the outset with the E3 rooftop 'cloverfield!' reveal of the 2nd I didn't think it was going to live up to my expectations. The eu multiplayer beta left me cold towards it too. Then i got some more hands-on time with the single-player at a retailer/supplier event but it still didn't click with me. Of course I still bought it day one & stuck with it to the end but overall it was pretty disappointing. A 6 out of 10 for me. No doubt I'll talk myself in to getting the third though!

                          /goes to watch the trailer.

Some screens & concept art have apparently been leaked. Not too sure how somebody would end up with them on their Flikr account but I really can't think of any reason for people to bother faking them.

If they're accurate then at least the visuals look better. Hopefully they've made massive improvements to the gameplay
