I do keep getting dissapointed every time a new shooter is announced and it's a bullet hell one. I miss Pop'n'twinbees, keio flying squadron and fun shooters.

Gradius was mooted for the PS3 at launch. Seems to have disappeared though. It would be very hard to top Gradius V though.
I agree it would be good to have some more regular shooters these days. If Cave keep this up maybe someone else will give it a bash. Don't think R-Type sold very well on the 360 though.
As for 5pb doing an original shooter good luck to them. Their Ketsui port is awesome and hopefully it's given them some good ideas.

I emailed 5pb (in Japanese) before the DOJ and Ketsui ports were released asking about making them region-free (before I bought an NTSC-J 360). I received a very polite reply from the department director stating that they were aware of foreign interest but couldn't guarantee anything. Alas, once the games were released it was obvious that the request had been ignored.

Had lots of trouble loading that whole trailer. And there was hardly any gameplay footage in there. Need to see more before decided to get this - especially when there are lots of Cave shooters on the way.

Same video's on the Japanese XBL marketplace too. Can't say I'm excited about the character designs etc, but the shooting looks pretty simple and quick-paced. Will probably look into picking this up.

Looks pretty good. Demo on XBLA in March with the hopefully region free retail release on the 7th of April.
