Yeah, the flashlight is a fantastic idea; that some creatures won't bother you if it is turned off is great. Also, that radio does induce a real sense of panic when it starts to crackle...

Yeah that's another thing that Silent Hill did better than Resi. The melee weapons are fantastic, and [in the first game especially] you get better results, as Harry's always missing with the damn hand gun.

I was wondering which game to start out on myself, as I really enjoyed the Silent Hill 3 demo. Found it far more unsettling than Resident Evil or Eternal Darkness.

I think I'll probably just start off on number 3, because I've heard a lot of mixed views on number 2 and I'm digging the fairground scene in 3.

Well, I've just spent the last 6 hours on Silent Hill 1, using Marcus' preferred technique, and all I can say is WOW!

This game has suddenly taken on a whole new meaning for me! I was wandering around that dank, nasty, unsettling school when

That one incident has completely gotten me back into this game. It's like I've been on the runway for an hour, and suddenly the game has taken off!

            I'm loving it.

I found SH1 to be far creepier than it's sequel, the locations were far more horrendous, and the sensation of hearing that air-raid siren is just one of those gaming moments I'll never forget.
Oh Jesus, the start of Silent Hill ****ing terrified me. Never actually been so scared at anything ever before.

"Ooh, nice camera angl-- hang on. What the ****'s that? Is th... oh god, an air-raid siren? What the hell? And a bloody hospital trolley. Hm, right. Don't s-- ****, blood. Okay, um... Without spoiling it, what is with that Air Raid Siren? What does it signify? Is it ever explained?

                  I must know, dammit!

                  Or must I...

                            I loved Silent Hill 3
Best ps2 game i have played since Ico.

Not of Ico standards of course, but it really stands out from the rest of the dross on the system.

                            Looks pretty too.

This can mean the creation of a darker version of reality, or the rearranging of the main Silent Hill to meet the needs of the "Controller" with respect to a certain individual. I think!
