I am impressed they have managed it but not really sure what kind of game you could make with it, certainly the controls are too limited to make an Unreal FPS style game. Personally I am not interested in portable games. I have a PSP which I mostly used in the day for watching movies and doing some basic net browsing. Loco Roco was the only game I really bothered to play.

I think I find it hard to find the limitations of portable as engaging as a decent console.

How busy is the game though? The sections shown on that video show no more than a few enemies around at any one time.
I would imagine thats the first level?, it gets quite busy later on, when youre in the forest in open spaces.

Theres also some really massive bosses in it.

However if youre talking from a technical asspect then NOVA dosent actualy seem to push the iphone that hard (at least not the later models) theres no slowdown what so ever or anything like that, so I would imagine other games would be capable of even more.

Again, as I have already said, FPS's do work and the controls arent too limited at all. I'd love to see them try it personaly.

For those still worried i would say that a Gears Of War type game could certainly work very well on the iphone as the controls for those games are intuative anyway and only require a few buttons.

The tightest controlled game I played on my iPhone was Gamelofts Zombie Infection. Third person shooter very much like Resi 4. The slower pace and single movement control really worked well. I think I need to give Nova and Modern Warfare another try to see if I can get to grips with the gyro controls.

Great graphics but these aren't the type of games that I really want to play on my phone. Like I said about the PSP a while back, I would rather be at home with a big screen, good controller and a good sound system for these types of games.

Make something that looks this good, that uses the touch controller well and is a 'portable' game and I am sold.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the gyro controls the games were designed for the twin virtual stick style set up and work well. Zombie infection was good as are most of gamelofts other recent games really. They released a spiderman game this week that is absolutely superb.
