I wondered, because Edge tend to present themselves as being pretty tough on solid-but-not-amazingly-great games. Maybe it's just the Edge apologists that do that.

To be honest I am most surprised about Tiger Woods getting 8.

Don't get me wrong, it's my favourite golf game ever but it is not really much different from 2003 and that usually gets it marked down in Edge.

Happy with that though, more of the same suits me when it was so good in the first place

tiger woods 2004 is the first one to be reviewed in edge hence its higher than expected score

The Tron2.0 and Homeworld 2 scores seem pretty much spot on to me.

I'm still baffled by people droning on about how authentic Tron 2.0 looks while they move from A -> B fighting the same old enemies with the same old weapons in static, linear worlds. It's just not that good a game.

Likewise Homeworld 2 is VERY accomplished and really fun to play but it's really a refinement of the original more than anything else. I'd give that an 8 too.

The sega feature is a very good read as well. From those photos though I couldnt believe Hisao Oguchi is 43!

Not sure how many of you have read the column but he's sure got my thoughts down to a tee. Shame to see them fail but I suppose it's their own fault. Markets change.
