Arcade games on your TV.

When playing an 'arcade' game on your TV, for Eg, Cave Shmup, or something off wiiware, or a dreamcast shooter, or an arcade compilation..

Do you...sit right up by the TV, as if you were on a machine (arcade)

Or..more relaxed, on your bed/sofa or usual position..

I'm just keen to know preferences..

When I moved into my new place, before the sofa was delivered, I was playing Shinobi, sitting on a stool, right infront of the screen...

Now I'm back to the more laid back sofa...

Hmm I usually sit up close. My ninja skills come to the fore* when I'm close up.

Laid back on teh Sofa just a chilling.

Sometimes I shuffle up a bit if the part of Espa II or Mushi Futari is particularly hectic but for anything else (I'm mainly glued to Fifa '10 these days) I just sit at the sofa.

I'm usually on my sofa or comfy office chair a couple of feet back from the TV.

Like I'd play any other game. If I'm using a stick it'll be on my lap though, so I guess sort like arcade.

Been playing MGS4 by sitting on my bed mind so I guess I've just contradicted myself..

Sat on the sofa around 8, 9 feet from my 32" TV - a distance that's fine for most games but RPG's sometimes have me squinting to read the text. I dunno, I don't like sitting too close to screens of any description, feels unhealthy somehow.

Depends on the game. If I playing a platformer or RPG sitting relaxed is fine. If I am playing Fifa, Toca or whatever I need to focus.

I shuffle up to the screen for tate shooters. For everything else i sit on the sofa.

I used to lay on my bed when playing my previous consoles, about 6-7 feet from the screen, but nowadays, I sit crosslegged on a big cushion about 2 feet from the screen, I'm a bit of a ho for the 'hi def' experience, I really wanna see those textures. Ironically, I still end up sitting 6-7 feet away for my older consoles, as they look shat upon this current TV and way better from afar (hopefully that Samsung Lyris mentioned in another thread might rectify this, I'm getting one later in the week...)
