Bloody Hell! Rare Have Finally Made A Decent Game, Banjo GBA

Bloody hell it's just like being in 1999.
You know Rare have finally made a good game, and its in the form of Banjo-Kazooie for the GBA. Not since 2001 when the awesome Conkers Bad Fur Day was released or 1999 when Jet Force Gemini came out have this company made a good game.

Got my copy of Banjo-Kazooie for the GBA yesterday and I am really impressed by it. It's nothing radically different from the original N64 games, still the same idea of a huge collecting marathon. Get notes to open doors and learn moves, collect jigsaw pieces to access new areas and talk to the awesome Mumbo Jumbo who will transform you into different animals.
The game works really well with the over head view too.

Really nice game, anybody else played it?

(Just a shame that the once brilliant Rareware website is now a poor imitation of its former glory.)

    It's rather fun, isn't it?

I presume it is a different game to the ones on the N64 though?

        Yup.

        Plays very similarly, though.

Not really. The only real difference is that rather than being 3D its an overhead perspective, similar to that used in games like Zelda and Boktai.
It is a new story with new objectives, challenges and so on though.

There are also several bits where the perspective changes for mini games, like when you look from a 3rd person perspective and have to shoot eggs at a ship.

could be almost as accurate if it read

Rare can make a game in less than 3 years!

                    That's kind of surprising too.

Since the Microsoft buy-out Microsoft have released 3 games on Nintendo consoles and 0 on Microsoft consoles.

                      Something's gone wrong there...

                        definitly.
Although we do know that there are Rare games in production for the x-box such as that online conker game and of course perfect dark

Sorry, I forgot Mickey Speedway racing, Starfox Adventures, Banjo Tooie and GBA Donkey Kong were all really good games.

Perhaps you might want to think about SNES DKC 1+2, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark", Blast Corps. and Killer Instinct 1 instead.

Don't get me wrong David Fallows, rare are one of my favourite developers. I own every single rare made N64 game except Killer Instinct because I don't like fighting games. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Conker are amongst my favourite games on any format.
Its just that in my eyes this huge company who had made countless classics have fallen on barren times recently and had not made a good game for years until GBA Banjo was released.

Anyhow, back to the game. I have made real progress and am really enjoying it. It's not nearly as big as the other 2 banjo's but there is still quite a bit to do in the 6 levels. The new octopus transformation is really good, as are the bits when the view changes for the shooting mini games. Same old Kazooie atics of argueing with every animal they meet are still in there, too.
