Apparently it's quite possible to get around this 'flaw' and build strategies that can deal with rogue 1s when they appear.
The review criticises the game on the basis that the 'control slips from manageable into randomness' but a look at the high score tables for Chain Factor (the PC version upon which Drop 7 is based) reveal some very high scores by the same people again and again, a bit like Steve Wiebe and and Billy Mitchell on Donkey Kong. This implies that there is a high level play where skill in positioning the numbers comes into being.
So I'm not sure the criticism (which is written as fact) is entirely fair.

Thanks Charles,
Im well used to that happening but I feel its just part of the game rather than a flaw, I feel there is strategy to minimise the chances of being caught out by this. This was one of the first games I bought for my IPhone, and it (Hardcore mode) still gets 95% of my gaming time today. Insanely addictive and suits the format perfectly.

yeah but did you get into that situation through sheer bad luck, or through bad play in some way? I don't know cause a) I don't know how you got there! and b) I don't know the best way to play.
Given the sort of scores people have I'm pretty sure there's ways to avoid it though. in that shot if you could get rid of the 6 and then work around underneath there is a way out..
I can certainly get 200k+ every go more or less.

I dont usually play for clear screens as it always screws up the next line, but has anyone had these? Ive had two so far, you get a nice 70K (iirc) bonus for it.
My highscore is 838K, the next goes right down to 696K. The only thing I wish the game had was stats to see just how much work-time sitting on the loo Ive spent playing this
