BT homehub + Upnp is a bit crap. As Charles suggested probably end up buying something better when I get's me fibre.

Ooooh... Did you get caught uploading video of Ghost in the Shell: First Assault?

So I set up a separate 5GHz band. The router makes this absolutely horrible noise when I'm using 5GHz. Classy product. Means I don't need to refresh the channel to maintain good throughput, but only my iPhone and my ThinkPad support it so far that I've found.

When playing a new game, say an enemy is running towards you and you perfectly time a punch to lay them out...only it pauses and cuts to a tutorial message saying "Press X to punch".
Like yeah, I was about to do that until you helpfully popped up!

I really hate tutorials .....major irk was when tutorials put into RTS or Strategy games and they try and make it part of a story....which already makes a very slow long winded tutorial even longer.

Went into GAME. A third of the shop is Amiibo/dimensions/Disney infinity toys.

In fairness to them, they're trying to stave off sliding into irrelevance. Anything which makes gaming a physical item to be sold is going to be their chief market.

I would feel put out, but my local GAME has a terrible pre-owned section (with many games priced at pretty much the new prices; 3DS titles for ?35) and in the new section, a "chart" (made up clearly of what GAME want to sell) and about 3 other games for each platform.

                "Specialist retailer" my arse.

****ing game updates. Was coming to the end of a hard-fought 6-lap race in Forza 6 the other day, yards from the line and about to win, when it suddenly paused, the screen went black and it asked me to install the latest update. Cancelling made no difference as it had booted me out of the game anyway, so I thought maybe if I restart the game it might pick up where it left off. No chance. And on top of that, it was impossible to restart the game without installing the update.

Just WTF? How hard is it to check if the player's actually playing before enforcing the latest update?

Haha I swear half this thread is devoted to updates, at least.

It's one of the main issues, though. Recently I've gone back to GBA since getting an AGS-101, and it's a bit depressing how it actually feels "refreshing" that it's switch on > game runs and absolutely nothing in-between, or to the side, or in the background. There's a certain purity to it. No ability to take screenshots and tweet them. No wifi to receive emails. No front-end menus, no settings screen.

It's (shock) a device that is made to play computerised games!

Been enjoying this with my Super Famicom recently.

Half the reason I barely use my PS4 is because not only does it constantly need updates, but it takes ages to get to the bloody game too. lol

Yeah, of late I've had a few times where I've put in a PS3 game, and seen an update that will take longer to play than I'd planned on playing the game!

Close game, open Netflix, same happens next time, never play again

Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive moaner about it too - it just made me laugh.

If the new machines didn't have that feature of downloading updates while in sleep mode, they would be literally unusable for me with my paltry 3.5mb connection.
