Best looking, easiest to use review sites?

Your suggestions please? Gaming or otherwise.

The way Billboard.com lists its review page seems closest to decent to me. I generally find most gaming/film/music websites to be pretty badly designed which is ironic considering their media background. There tends to be too much clutter and for them to be far too image/flash reliant which can limit some peoples access to them.

On the Billboards page you click the Reviews tab and it lists all the reviews in order of most recent with a small related image, the score and a small excerpt from the review. Simple, clean and not buried away in the site

Call me odd, but I always read the reviews posted by people on Amazon.

I quite like AV Forums for their movie reviews.

Sex Gore Mutants is good for more obscure horror...definitely one for the ugly tree though, horrendous layout & shizzle but the reviewers know their stuff & have helped shape my horror buying trends for quite some time now

Game wise I only ever read the first play threads here, nothing else comes close IMO
The reviews here are perfect as well but a little slow in getting new titles.

Other than that I dont really read many reviews & just go on what interests me for purchases as review opinon is so subjective they may hate it but I might like it.

NTSC-UK is actually one of the better sites around for actually finding stuff in a few clicks, with all the reviews for a system listed on one page. If there was an option to sort by title, score or date, or something, I don't think there'd be many sites doing it better.

Tbh, all the US guff aside, i do quite like Gamespot and IGN. I've never liked Eurgamer or Daily Radar (if its still called that) for some reason.

The First play here is "usually" a decent guide as long as it's not fanboyish and like Kryss, the Amazon user reviews are actually okay more often than not.

Movies: Rotten Tomatos and Imdb user posts.

AVForums is also decent for all reviews

I used to like how metacritic.com was laid out, but they've recently succumbed to 'overly fancy presentation' syndrome.

glad you said that, I used to love metacritic and use it far less since its redesign, its horrible.

And they've since dropped ntsc-uk, so that's another reason to stop using them
Apparantly our output dropped.... wt.... We've never been prolific at any point.

Shame about the reviews, but I find the gamefaqs system pretty good - type in a search and it lists all the platforms and stuff.

Game Revolution -- they've been around for AAAGES, and looking back over their reviews over the years they've been on the money more times than not. They updated the layout and it wasn't completely garish, and thankfully not too Flash-animation-ized either.
