    Infinite Blank

Anyone seen this? Looks quite groovy. You can draw your own bits of the world and some of the stuff people have come up with is very nice. Basically, you just walk to the edge of the world or any white space and just start drawing. Then you just draw invisible lines where you want the platforms and I think that's about it.

There's a forum, too, and it sounds nice and community-y.

Better still, it runs on Windows, OS X and Linux!

Gonna try it but my Finder crashed so need to reboot

I was on it for about 2-3 hours last night doing some drawings. The editor is like a dodgy version of MS Paint with nothing but paintbrush(different widths), fill and filled shapes(circle, square and polygon, although polygon can have straight or freehand sides). It does have proper undo and redo, though, going back as many times as I needed.

    First up, my avatar:

After having bought Sonic 4, then Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and S&K, I was in Sonic mode the rest of the day. I'm going to make his feet look like a blurry ring instead of how they are at the moment, as he looks really weird when he slides around in-game

After much jumping about over volcanoes and through a rather nice theme park, I managed to rise up through some clouds until I found an empty cell. When you reach one, the game asks if you'd like to edit it. If you choose 'no', it bounces you back the way you came, otherwise you get the editor...

I wanted to draw a window into another place, and decided to draw something 3D within the 2D world, and you can't get much easier than a house! First I was going to draw an actual window but I thought a picture frame would serve the same purpose and also be easier to draw. Which it was:

Anyway, the general idea is that you enter the picture from the road at the bottom of the screen, reach the front door and then access the rear path by jumping on the windows, just like you do IRL, and then you can exit left. You can also play about in the tree but you must tread carefully in case you frighten the bird! You can access the cell above either via the tree or the top window, it's up to you.

Here's what happens when you click one of the platform drawing buttons at the top-right. The button with the arrow is for platforms(so you can jump through them) and the dark one above it is for actual barriers, such as floors and ceilings that you don't want people to go through at all:

Unfortunately for now, you can only draw platforms and barriers freehand, not with any of the shapes(I think. It didn't work for me, anyway).

What's good is that, generally, anything goes, as long as it's not vulgar, etc, with the only real rules being that it has to be easy to navigate and not do anything silly, like trying to trap players. You can set a password for your cells so that only you can edit them or even leave them freely editable but unable to be locked by anyone other than you(to stop people taking control over them completely). Some people have done nifty things like have a riddle that you have to solve, which will be the password to edit the cell. Solve the riddle and you get to write your name or something on the wall as proof, or maybe draw something.

It's fun! It was pretty empty last night, so hoping there'll be more people on this week. Speaking to people is hilarious - it pops up a mini editor so you draw your words! Obviously, it'd be easier if you could just type so for now, 99% of communication seems to be smileys

      It's MS Paint: the MMO

It seems like a fantastic idea.

That's exactly what it is! The 'platforming' isn't even that, although inventive types could probably do magical things if they put their minds to it.

Give it a go, it's completely free
