The cover is lovely but an 8 for Vanquish but a 7 for Deadly Premonition/Red Seed Profile? This issue is full of FAIL!!

I second the lovely cover comment.

Considering the time of year it is the review section is kind of weak.

Only Vanquish of any real note. Maybe Costume Quest.

And a 4 for FF?! Mrs Teddy is loving that so obviously Edge are wrong and morons (her words, not mine!)

Great cover, glad to see Vanquish getting an 8 (given that I've got it on pre-order), and can totally respect the 7 decision on Deadly Premonition.

7 for Deadly Premonition? Subscription CANCELLED or something. I wonder what they actually said about it.

I'd completely forgotten about Super Scribblenauts. Why only a 6- are the controls still borked or something?

No, they are fixed beyond perfection. They must have printed the score upside down, the game is superb.

Another 'where are all the AAA titles due next week/early next month reviews?' moan.

A review embargo can be just as harmful to publishers as beneficial.

I just wonder what their gripe is because I saw it got a 9 on IGN (not exactly the be all and end all when it comes to reviews, I know) and they say, apart from being a bit easy, it's marvellous with all the previous problems fixed. Maybe it's really short or it's actually extremely easy or something?

All Scribblenauts' PR has been done through IGN from the very first second the first game was announced. They've had every single exclusive, I think.

Which I'm sure is meaningless in how they review it, but worth noting.

I havent played Deadly Premonition yet but I would imagine its a game you either absolubtley love or it will bore you to bits, which means it would be a hard game to rate if you were trying to review it properly and give a balanced opinion of it.

Having said that this is Edge, I dont think they review things properly.

Super Scribblenaughts has had mixed reviews online I think hasnt it?. I know gamespot gave it a 6 or somthing, but then they loved the first one and said this one messes up the formula so the reviewer may have been drunk.

And only 7 for Layton? Pffff... Edge are dead inside now...

My copy arrived today, and it stinks. Literally: as soon as I opened the bag I was greeted by this strange... well, I don't even know how to describe it. I'd be interested to see if other subscribers find the same thing. It's bizarre.

Uh, anyway. Edge's main issue with Super Scribblenauts is the change to level structure and how it restricts freedom. In the first game game it was too easy to rely on the same solutions again and again, and by addressing this the devs have gone too far in the other direction and ended up stifling players' creativity, or something.

^ Turned up this morning, nothing obvious, other than the normal magazine 'smell'.

Agree the mag stinks, not in a 'WTF why did game X score Y' way, it just really smells very funny
