Urgh . . .that actually does look nice. I really dont want to get a hold of this phone and find out its just ripe for emulation goodies. Just a shame it doesnt have NFC tech in it otherwise this could've replaced my nexus 1

I know, I wish they hadn't shown the white phone. I come to the end of my iPhone contract with O2 in May and I'd been considering whether to upgrade to a new iPhone, move to Android or just keep the iPhone that I have.
I still don't now which I'm going to do but if the price is OK this certainly seems like it may be a decent Android device. I'd rather wait a while to see how well they perform as communication device first.

This phone looks really cool for emulation.
When I saw this the first thing I thought was:
Android.
Gamepad controls.
Emulation!!!
I only want to carry 1 device, so a phone on Android with all the mod cons that is also an emulation beast appeals to me greatly.
Great that it is on Android as the idea of 'cracking' it for homebrew is really a moot point, so the actualy PS games cannot use that excuse for piracy etc
If only it was cheaper!!!

Couple of downsides to it though, only 400mb of ram so not exactly a beast, battery isnt that great, no high def video (good still camera though), and the screen is ultra dull from the reviews that have been posted so far, good definition apparently just no brightness at all for some strange reason.
However though, the prospect of mario Kart super circuit with proper controls on my phone is just too much to pass up on, and lets face it if theres one game you cant live without its super circuit

For example fishbowlhead, looks like you read the engadget review based on what you said, but the 3 things you listed are apparently wrong (not your fault, their fault), Engadget need to do another review and get their facts right!

Fair enough, i don't trust the Engadget reviews as far as i can throw them usually, however i like to warn people about any negative points in phones as unlike games that can be traded in, you can be stuck with these devices for 2 years.
Still, i love the concept of the psp phone, and seeing as my contract is up am still considering one.

Yeah, that's fair enough mate.
That was the first review I read of it and thought, damn, that sounds crap.
But the comments below the review as well as the other reviews on the net made the Engadget review look like a stitch up - am I right in thinking they sponsor Apple or something?
That 400MB is on phone storage, not the RAM (512MB), apparently can do 720p and although the screen is not as good as the superb Iphone 4, there is nothing wrong with it. Battery life is ok, but not sure on that.
Still to expensive for me though, hopefully it will crash by Christmas! Still think it is the phone for me though. I half kinda hope it fails so the price crashes and I can get one cheaply. Not interested in the PS Games, Android games will be fine but really all I'm after is portable emulation on a phone with great controls.

Checked out all the facts on the specs and it is indeed being listed everywhere as having 512mb ram not 400mb, stupid engadget what a crock of rubbish. Hopefully the reports on the super dull screen are just issues with a few review units as in pics it looks pretty dam sharp.
The main thing is thought he controls are getting universal praise all round on comfort, build quality and layout. Will be nice to finally be able to complete metroid fusion on a phone thanks to shoulder buttons. Plus im sure the good devs will turn a shoulder button into a camera button for ease of clicking away too

Looks like this is delayed across all three major networks at the moment anyway. I'm guessing SIM free shipments might be fulfilled as they don't have an operator QA process to go through?
I'm curious about this phone as well. My iPhone contract expires towards the end of the year, but I won't ever get another phone contract that requires me to pay double the monthly value of the service to subsidise the cost of the phone (which it looks is the case for this).
EDIT: Still coming.Last edited by Number45; 31-03-2011, 08:46.
