I don't know about ICO being number 1... It's under-rated by mainstream gamers, but very over-rated by hardcore gamers. I would've liked to have seen Gitaroo Man and and PNO3 in the under-rated list.

I think it's important to define just what they mean by over/underrated.

From their list it would seem they have gone by sales figures rather than general opinion. For instance, Ico is pretty much held in pretty good esteem by most people who have played it, and TR-AoD is pretty much regarded as **** by anyone who has played it. So how Tomb Raider made it into the overrated list is beyond me, when it was never rated that highly to begin with.

Tomb Raider, overrated? Everyone said it was ****e! So how can it have been overrated? Same as Daikatana. And it can't have gone on game sales, as Daikatana had hardly any!

From the amount of RPG's in that top 25 of overrated games, it seems that gamespy have the patience of...something with no patience.

Crappy feature with no importance whatsoever...go write something interesting :P

Super Mario Sunshine, overrated?? Um everyone hated this, complained, it sold very poorly compared to other top GC titles and past mario titles.. despite it being probably the most enjoyable platformer this generation.

A lot of the games on there are there purely because they sold well. Quake 2, FFVII and Halo.

Daikatana - sold very few copies, was universally panned and is remembered as being one of the biggest disasters in videogaming when it was merely bugged & average than actually terrible. Ditto with Blinx but to a lesser form really..

Operation Flashpoint underrated??!?!?! eh?!?! this single handedly made codemasters profitable for the post-psx period. Is still their biggest US and PC sucess and sold more than 1 million copies, got 90%+ reviews across the board and was game of the year if i remember correctly!!

Unless you look at it from their perpective then we're probably gonna disagree with them all.

Could someone post the article if it has a specific break down of what they mean by over and underated...

That and sonic is all thats left of my Megadrive carts after i sold 18 MD games for buy a PSone pad and memory card, during its launch. I wish i had never got rid of Gunstar Heroes and Shining Force 1.

Multiplayer battles are brilliant, i still can't believe no-ones followed up on the idea (including Sega)

Judging by the definitions that Magnakai posted then the list is fairly spot on with the exception of Halo which is everything it is made out to be.

I would include Pikmin and Parappa The Rapper on underrated.
