    Project Gotham Racing 5

The mill seems to be turning again on this one which is only partially surprising in that it's taking Microsoft so long to get this off the ground. On one hand it's potentially good news as the 360 is in bad need of some major exclusives to its slate and after GT5 hits (if ever) I'm not sure I'll have it in me to be bothered by the prospect of a Forza 5 this gen but on the other I'm not sure how much I'd have an interest in this either.

As much as I've enjoyed the series, a total of 5 games in and the repetition was getting a bit much. The idea of some Euro dev making another is a bit meh... so yeah, mixed feelings.

I would be seriously interested in this if true.

There is a market for serious but arcade leaning racing games and no developer pulled it off as well as Bizarre Creations. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit has re-ignited my interest in a game like PGR so let's hope not only it's true, but the developer gets what has made the series so special.

Wont be the same without Bizarre at the helm.

I don't think it matters how many games fill a series, it's whether those games continually evolve and improve.

Activision love Microsoft(s money), maybe they'll lend them Bizarre.

I loved PGR4. It's still awesome today. The weather, bikes etc...

            Great stuff.

Maybe this is the mystery title Sumo Digital is working on for a hardware manufacturer. Their Sega ports have been superb especially Out Run.

I've loved every PGR game since the DC original MSR so I'm hoping whoever takes over can do the series justice. Is there any chance of them using the PGR4 engine? PGR4 in car view is still one of the best looking things in gaming in my opinion.

If it's true they're doing that then PGR5 would go right up on my radar. We can rule Nintendo out of the equation and can't see what Sony would need with most it's racer series already in the pipeline.

                    +1

I still have PGR4 tucked away from when I bought the MS wheel. I've dug it out a few times to play and it still looks good compared to racers today but what I adore about it is the in-car view, the fact that halfway through a race the weather can alter the proceedings dramatically and in general the audio-space of the cockpit.

It's surprising that very few games have come close since. It also has an absolute deluge of tracks to race on... great, great game.

Hope Sumo is making it, that would be superb.

Would Sumo be up to this (this is not meant as a dig) , most of their games have just been ports, or racers on lower platforms that's totally different to design a whole game from scratch, never mind the mighty tech BC built up with PGR 3, PGR 4; What about all that reference material BC built up, will MS own all those photo's and videos, are will each city have to be researched again ? .

I hope whoever gets the job, takes it back to the magic of the 1st two games. I can't quite put my finger on it, but PGR3 and PGR 4 just wasn't as much fun online and this generation is crying out for a fun Online Simple Arcade racer

It'd be a change of tact for them but they've always been given niche titles to work on. I'd have faith in them
