started playing some old pc games such as black and white,star topia and evil genius looking for more games along a similar line anyone got any ideas ? either retro or newish games

is populous on any newer formats ?

There's populous DS and Populous 3 is on PSN (rubbish PS1 version though, better off getting the PC version) .

Settlers 2 is a great game and was remade recently. Also has a good iphone port (with no skirmish mode which is incredibly annoying)

No-one really doing them at the moment, the poor sales of BW2 put everyone off I think.

Isn't Civ essentially a God game?

I wouldn't personally describe Evil Genius as a god game, what kind of game are you looking for?

What is a God game?

To me, it's one where the player acts like an overlord with little to no direct action, viewing the play area and makes changes that have an impact on the resources/finances/happiness of the minions below. It may or may not have combat, so I regard both Dungeon Keeper and Game Dev Story to be God games.

If you want one closer to Black and White, Kingdom of Keflings is the most recent example I can think of.
