Need For Speed Shift 2: Unleashed

All format again and no doubt out next November.

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

It's gonna be 30fps by the sounds though screens are already available in the link. Really early to be showing this but I was impressed by NFS last year so I'm up for this.

'Shift 2 producer Marcus Nilsson told OXM that the dev team isn't chasing the 60fps standard you'll find on the likes of Gran Turismo and Forza and that's what will push Shift 2 away from "bland graphics".'

    Another victory for HD!

i thought I'd read this was for spring launch, which struck me as odd for NFS

If it is a Spring release then I really, really hope it's because EA is planning on releasing a new Burnout next November

Would be better if it was, keeps the titles nicely spread out.

            Yup, it's definitely next spring.

Which means two NFS games next year, no? Sure they announced another title a while back.

I have to say, I really enjoyed Shift. I've yet to see a game get the cockpit view and thrill of racing as good as this. Just a shame it was a buggy mess.

These mention that EA has an NFS by BlackBox lined up for Xmas 2011. Maybe they commissioned the 3 devs to work on the series as reinventions and with Shift and Hot Pursuit getting good responses they want to do sequels but are struggling to schedule them. A few of the commentors on some sites have said probably correctly that Shift could eventually be positioned as it's own series given it deviates from the traditional NFS mould the most.

Apparently they've dropped NFS from the name (It's still in the branding I think, MW style) already, so I assume they're hoping Shift will be marketable as a separate entity.

The actual racing was superb, felt super fast and had some decent AI competition. But yes it was unfortunately bugtastic and i found it almost unplayable after the first 3-4 tiers.
